No touching the illegal block in the back on Manning, I see.

It's a moot point since he was running off the field at the time. Try crying about it if he is making a play on the ball.

Van wrote:pop, the player for the Saints reached across the line with the ball while maintaining full possession of the ball. Score, right then and there. He'd already established possession of the ball.

In Murphy's case, their contention was that he never had possession of the ball, because he never completed the catch. In the case of the two-point conversion, he caught the ball, reached over the goal with it - score! - then it got kicked loose.

Yes, I saw the Murphy play, and like the TV announcers calling the game I thought it was a total horseshit call. I heard the ref's explanation for the call, and like the TV announcers who also heard it I still thought it was a horseshit call.

Kinda like the Tuck Rule call.

Basically, ever since the Dave Casper and Mark Van Eeghen plays, the Raiders have been getting hosed in retaliation by the karma gods.

Hell, I'm still waiting for the karma gods to pay back Dallas for that Drew Pearson play against the Vikes when Pearson clearly pushed off, and they called it on the Vikings' defender.
Screw you Van. You don't think having TO on the team for three years was payback? Or how about Quincy Carter qb'ing the team? We've been through a lot of shit and taken our fair share up the tailpipe. Time to let go.

Nah, those don't count. You did those to yourself. Those weren't things which were done to you.

The karma gods still owe you, in spades.

Though the Jackie Smith thing was kinda nice, it still wasn't a case of the refs paying you back for what they gave you against Minnesota.

Hmm, maybe they sent you Tony Romo, with a Jessica Simpson chaser?

Okay, I'll give YAFJ this: Clearly, Manning wasn't just running off the field. He was running towards Porter, and after Peyton had overrun the pursuit he was beginning to turn back towards Porter. Equally clearly, Will Smith committed a blatant clip on him. Clips don't come much more obvious than that one, especially against a lone defender in the open field.

Not that Manning was ever going to make that tackle, but it doesn't matter. That was a blatant clip. It should've been no TD, with the Saints getting possession fifteen yards back from the spot of the foul.

exactly. But nobody ever mentioned it since the Saints are too special and deserve to get away with illegal blocks just like they got handed the game vs. Minnesota by the refs.

You need to learn to quit while you're behind.

Not while he can continue to squeeze every last oz. of trolljuice from this latest effort, he won't.

Which means that the Saints would have had even more time to run out the clock, tack at least a FG onto the board and give the ball back to Manning with under a minute left to play. Either way, Saints win.
