I can see your trainwreck of thought on the matter to some degree but it's a reach at best. Change occurs from year to year in the NFL and after only 2-3 weeks, it's too early to say who's a bad and who's a good team.

Not looking for or wanting any flattery, but to say that the 9ers "played down to the competition" yesterday is ridiculous. If KC had won 13-10, maybe you could say that, but they got absolutely destroyed. To play down to the competition would suggest that the game was somewhat competitive in the 1st place, which it was not.

Kee-rist...it's a reflection on how the Niners played, not the Chiefs. The Niners played like a 4-12 team and the Chiefs played inspired ball.

So it's settled then. They didn't play down to the competition.

And furthermore, when that descriptive is used, it implies a vastly superior team just barely getting past a lesser team, not losing by 3-4 TD's.

This is one year I really can't get much of a read for what's going on in the NFL; who should be great, who should be good, and who should suck. Donks look to be 1-7 by mid-season though. Hate Josh McDaniels while you can Chef fan. A year from now, he'll be getting the axe

Seems to me that the niners are't playing to the level of their competiion, but consistently below the level of their competition.
