just pack your shit and get the fuck out of OUr conference... asap.
You're delusional: its' UT's conference, you're just the first fat rat at their table. And as far as packing our shit and getting out, it's OUR choice to leave so don't come across as the alcoholic extortionist bully screaming at his business partner to get out. NU asked for balanced TV revenue sharing and a lucrative contract from someone, anyone, Texas/Beebe said nope, we said bye. They were lobbying for their own TV deal. You watch, they'll get it. All the while Beebe, who lives in Dallas, will glad hand UT. That's what he's paid to do.
What is humerous is the leftovers feel NU is running from, and whining about, the Texas 10. Osborne had the foresight to get off a sinking ship, the smartest rat if you will. We didn't like the taste of the cheese Texas was serving. Yes, Texas, not OU, you're this guy OU fan.
It's not only my opinion, but the over/under on the Big XII surviving at what it will look like in the 2011 season; is about 5 years me thinks. Answer me how much BCS and ESPN love OU and UT will get after the Texas State fair game. I'm sure everyone in CFB Town USA will tune in to see the Big 2 play Iowa St, Kansas St, Baylor, and Kansas on the Fox cable networks. (If they can find them.) Meanwhile, NU will get perennial powers Michigan, Penn St, Ohio St, and great supporting teams in Wisconsin, Iowa, & Michigan St; teams that would year in and year out kick those four team's collective asses I mentioned from the Big 12, as well as Okie Light and Taco Town. Didn't I just see Illinois wipe their dicks with the drapes, otherwise known as Baylor?
Nebraska is academically (save the prop 48 crap, this is the 21st century, Nebraska had to provide the Big 10 with standards that meets or exceeds their profile for acceptance, which overrides the Big 12 BTW, and did it with flying colors.) and financially secure for years to come from an athletic standpoint. We will be seen on TV through-out the nation, every game, with no PPV, (which the Big 12 was exploiting NU fan with 4-5 weeks a year for their own financial gain. I promise you this pissed off the Big 12 coffer boys when we announced were gone.) Thus NU benefits from a recruiting standpoint.
I challenge anyone to post a link with a negative take on why NU's choice was a bad one. Colorado's as well. I guarantee Missouri, who relished the idea to go to the the Big 10...would jump through flaming razor lined hoops to have the opportunity NU was afforded. The only ones hurt are the vags otherwise known as the Texas tandem, and of course the teams that have no option. I can assure you NU's fans do not feel well about leaving ISU, KSU, & Kansas to the savages, but it's survival of the fittest in this day and age unfortunately in BTCF. Texas forced our hand. They wanted NU to fall in line with the three I just mentioned, sorry NU is no Kansas St. Texas was looking for a home when we took them into the Big 8 when their corrupt SWC was in total turmoil in large part from greed. Well, you could say we left because of their greed.
They'll need to scramble in the future because of what NU and CU did to Dan Beebe and his 19th century "all things Texas" mindset.
Yes OU and UT have scoreboard the final year, I can live with it, it's done, in the past...the future is all that's left to anyone and NU fan is damn glad it's a far sight brighter than anything the Big 12 was offering up.
Ultimately, we'll have scoreboard.
I know it's difficult to separate the concept of the overall academics at the institution and the academics of the football team but fact of the matter is THIS is how you won...

3) How can there be no bylaws that govern the blatent bias towards ut when it comes to admission requirements, the B12 title game, etc?
I used this link because it is a perfect example of the incendiary and fraudulent claims Nebraska's administration and fans have been making for years, not months, YEARS! I skipped over the first part of his question because it deserves it very own beating in the future and I wanted to remain in proper time line with my first thread.
2)The rules were never tilted toward Texas, they moved back to being in line and fair from being tilted toward NEBRASKA for the previous quarter century! It wasn't evil Texass that didn't want Prop 48 athletes; Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma had been trying to force Prop 48 out of the conference since at least the Mid 80s. The Prop 48 issue was the straw that OU and OSU used to break the camel's back and bring Kansas and Missouri out of the Nebraska camp with stories of football, basketball, and magical Unicorns used by three much smaller schools to trod on the largest alumni base and flagship school of the 2nd largest state in the Union. These guys are doctorate level educated people and Nebraska actually thought this plan would float long term when even half of their old school buddies didn't really agree with them on the majority of the issues? Is Corn Cult really so self absorbed and delusional that the southern schools weren't going to call their outlandish bluff with all the cards showing on the table? Obviously the answer is a resounding yes as we have all seen. Nebraska basically said it was unfair that Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Colorado state schools could actually recruit athletes who could could pass high school level courses much less college and in their own home states and neighbors... THE HORRAH, THE HORRAH!!! Nebraska, and especially Tom Osbourne, knew they could no longer dominate other schools without kids who couldn't spell cat if you spotted them two letters in succession. Nebraska had already lost their supposed "walk on" program to NCAA scholarship limitations eliminating the ability to hold a roster still well over 120 players a season while the rest of us were happy when we had 85 to 90 because they were "academic" scholarships mandated by their state legislature for "County academics". Look at the 1996 Nebraska Cornhuskers National title team... 141 players on the Cornhusker roster, over SIXTY "walk ons" and that was just roster size. Look at the actual players Tommy Frazier, Derek Brown, Ahman Green, Lawrence Phillips, Michael Booker,Christian Peter, Tyrone Williams, Jared Tomich, Reggie Baul, and Jamel Williams were ALL ACADEMIC NON QUALIFIERS without their blatant use of prop 48 back doors!!! Nebraska's argument was that Prop 48 was the reason the Big 8 was so successful at the time and previously... *cough* bullshit *cough*. Colorado was number 5 in the country and had six prop 48s on their entire roster which was second leading in the conference, Kansas State was 7th with three prop 48s, and Kansas was #9 with only a single prop 48 player on their team who wasn't even a starter. Is there anyone in their right mind who believes that Nebraska would have been just as dominating over everyone else if the playing field were leveled to where they had to play under the same requirements, guidelines, and expectations as the rest of us had to do so? Would they have been as fresh and deep throughout the season if they didn't have over fifty more players on their roster than any other team in the conference? Would they have been steam rolling their opponents if they hadn't been STARTING or playing extensively more Prop 48s than any other school in not just the conference but the entire country had on their ENTIRE teams? Who knows, but I for one seriously doubt it! Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor only wanted what many of the rest of us had been calling for for over a decade already! They wanted kids playing college ball who could to at least some extent reasonably attend college. Nebraska simply didn't want to be bothered with the same limitations that nearly every other Big 8 school had ALREADY been enduring for countless years; smaller rosters, fewer scholarships, and kids who passed high school classes and entrance exams! Once again... THE HORRAH, THE HORRAH! Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado simply took on new allies on an issue they had already been on the other side of Nebbitch of for nearly a generation and turned the tide of the argument. God for fucking bid should the rest of our institutions take back a little bit of the power over our own destiny's that Nebraska had come to assume was their God given right to control in the few previous years.
3) Blatantly bias by laws? What bias by laws? I only see bitching about recruiting. No shit the Texas schools have a larger player pool in their own back yard... THEY'RE THE SECOND LARGEST STATE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY! They have a population that outnumbers the rest of our state's populations COMBINED! That's not an unfair by law, that's demographics. More people want to or must live there for one reason or another whatever it may be. Look at your own fucking screen name you fucking rube... you live in AUSTIN, TEXAS not BFE, Nebraska your own self. Every other institution in the old Big 8 was accepting the same scenario as you. You weren't being singled out, you were just butt hurt that we would rather play ball games under conditions that weren't set by and in favor for yourselves and instead equaled out amongst all the parties involved. Look at the rosters throughout the conference it isn't just the Texas schools making way with the talent it is everyone. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Colorado, and even NEBRASKA all have a major number of players from Texas; hell New Mexico, NMSU, Tulsa, LSU, and Arkansas all do as well!

and OU has way more scoreboard than "the final year". the last conference championship NU won was what? in the 90's? talk about a bunched up whiny pussies.
Beebe, Texas, waaaaaaahhhhhh! we used to be good, seriously! GBR!
OU is UT's bitch in 3,2,1......
we win football games, don't complain about it on message boards.
That's the only argument they have to fall back on when the facts are exposed... while they ignore the fact that the
SEC invited Oklahoma into their fold whose contracts dwarf those of the Big Teletwelve. They ignore the fact it isn't just Texas getting its own network and Oklahoma is in negotiations with Fox and Cox for its own network as well.
We don't have scoreboard "the final year" we have eternal scoreboard on Nebraska. We lead the series, we have more titles, and we were easily the most dominant team during the twelve team era of the conference, the last decade of play together Nebraska was our bitch, plain and simple.
Tuck your tail and run away to be Ohio State's bitch since you're so tired of being our bitch and the evil Crimson/Burnt Orange empire treated you so unfairly.
Nebraska was the detriment to this conference; not Texas, not Oklahoma, not ESPN/ABC, not anyone else. Corn worshiper was all for the revenue sharing in 1994 and 1995 when they were on top of the world, "all class", and collecting fat checks. As soon as the tables turned when Oklahoma and Texas brought in new coaches and rebuilt their programs their fans went from class to ass and the tune their athletic department danced to changed. Nebraska assumed when this conference was formed they could cash unlimited checks on the backs of the Oklahoma's and Texas' of the conference. When things didn't turn out that way in their own little fantasy land they crawled away on their yellow bellies while Sooners and Whorns dug their cleats in their backs.
Fact of the matter is that
Oklahoma will collect the largest payout from the Big 12 in football this season for the third time in the last five years; we played more games on television, more games on national television, and getting a double share payout from a
BCS Bowl game after kicking your asses yet again. Oklahoma is getting the largest payout, not Texas, not Texas A&M, not Colorado, and certainly not Nebitch... OKLAHOMA!
Even if this conference does eventually fall apart one of two things occur: 1) we end up in a super conference which includes the two largest state's in the union and geographic map that encompasses 1/2 of the continental United States or 2) We roll out to the conference with the largest television contracts in the country with our Crimson brothers in Tuscaloosa while you're still sucking Columbus and Ann Arbor dicks for hand outs. That's survival of the fittest. Nebraska tried and failed to get their way and when they got owned they cried and ran away.
Fuck off, go collect your welfare check from Ohio State and Michigan, and get the hell out of OUr conference.
