And I'm guessing the BE is drooling over the paycheck UConn is about to hand them.

UCONN is competitive. I think they'll (at least) cover the 17.5 or whatever it is.

Sweet! DIII Frostburg State is better than Auburn through 17 rounds.

Awesome.
Didn't quite get the funny until I saw the "OH YEAH? Flip it" button... good stuff. Made an NAIA team better than Oregon.

I plugged Iowa-Oregon and Iowa-Auburn in there and, in both cases, it kicked out "Iowa is only 5 plays away from beating either of these teams in the NC game. Who would have thought it?

so, you favor the current bowl system and meaningless bowls instead of a playoff....given your pride in winning in winning the Music City, Chick Fil-A, and Outback bowls....whoop dee fuckin' doo. i know i'd rather win the Music City bowl or beat N'Western in OT than play for the National title. that's what makes a helluva season, awwright.

Maybe I'm missing your point here, but . . . :?
I mean, it's not exactly like the Big East has never gotten this type of paycheck before.

Last I checked, they get one every year.
My post was in response to smackaholic's (facetious) recommendation that UConn sit this one out.

There is no way UCONN can sell their allotment when you can buy tickets to this game on Stubhub for 15 bucks. And that's no exaggeration. There are tickets available for $15.
That isn't surprising. I would probably go that route too instead of paying over $200 per seat.
15 bucks? 700 in travel, food, and lodging expenses (still a hell of a bargain to go to AZ this time of year) and I'm damn near considering watching OU pummel UConn. I predict the tailgating with OU fans will be same as it was in Norman.

Relax, buddy. Don't mean a thing other than the fact that OU is overrated every year and playing in places they shouldn't be. :D
at least you acknowledge, however indirectly, that you belong in the Music City Bowl most years. It's important to understand your station in the grand scheme of things.
logically speaking, it is impossible to argue coherently that OU both "chokes" in big games *and* is overrated and "playing in places they shouldn't be". but, in your plastic, malleable rhetoric of SEC homerism as the dominant trope, you execute the contradiction that undermines your own position without knowing it, yet again. also, painting yourself as a poster with a cool, collected demeanor requiring others to "relax", as you say, is high comedy.
truth is: sadly, you've fallen victim to VCS. Vito Corleone Syndrome. Since your team has a shot at the Big Prize, you seem to elide their on-field success with your own misguided perception that your takes are bullet-proof and overall "worldview" confirmed. Your team is good, your takes are still the same....there is no connection between the two. like a schizophrenic, you perceive Auburn and SEC related cosmic order everywhere when there is none. And, sadly, with all the delusional zeal of a jr. high girl who thinks the senior QB on the football team "really loves her" after he pulls off the condom in the backseat of the Buick....you continue to pound out the same homer-inflected, flame-bait drivel.

so, you are saying Auburn didn't play in the Music City, Chicken Sammie, and Outback bowls to rack up 3 of those 5 big bowl wins that I'm supposed to be really impressed by? the bowl system is meaningless. it's like 2-3 years ago when M2 was in here prancing around about the Pac's undefeated bowl record. it doesn't matter. 2-5 doesn't piss me off nearly as much as you'd like to think. Conference championships are far more enduring.
and, since you evaded the point altogether. Stoops, who you seem to think is hilarious to ridicule for losing in a BCS game while Auburn beats Northwestern in OT....is STILL more successful than any coach to ever coach at Auburn. Stoops is money in non-BCS Auburn type bowls, too. he's 3-1....and two of those W's are the Cotton and Holiday, comparable to any of the Auburn "big" bowl wins of your beloved 5-2 time period (minus the meaningless Sugar win over Va Tech)

so, with the attempted non-sequitor jujitsu (and you already played the "gay" card...right out of the jon playbook), I can assume this exchange is over. because i'm through here.

That "meaningless" Sugar Bowl win over VT was DEFINITELY overshadowed by the mudhole stomping OU received in the Orange Bowl.
Stoops shoulda spent more time coaching and less time cutting deals for poll votes.

Well, considering that before the Oregon game, their players were all saying "this is our bowl game"...
Yeah.

What the fuck? There's a meltdown on this board and I wasn't the one to cause it? That's total bullshit. Fuck you all.
By the way, your programs are all crooked. Bob Stoops hasn't been good at anything since he coached at Iowa. Gene Cheesedick made the worst mistake of his life leaving Ames and the only reason he landed Scam Newton was because he outbid Dan Mullen.
I don't see what the hissy fit is all about on here about next season. Everyone with half a brain knows the rest of you irrelevant programs are just playing for 2nd to Iowa.
Vandenberg the Mandenberg! Suck it!

Fukk.
Fukk. Fukk. Fukk. Fukk.
Ever since the line was announced for the OU-UConn game I was thinking, damn, that's free fukking money right there! Put five hundred on the sooners, dumbass. UConn has a kid at QB who ought to start.....at high school......JV......of a really small school.
Maybe.
They have not scored an offensive TD since the huskie chicks lost. Well, that was gonna be my line till a few days ago. How 'bout since the huskie chicks lost to a team not named stanford?
Oh well.
Did anyone out there have the sense to collect some of this free money? Rack you if you did.
