I didn't think it would be close by halftime either but we'll see if Wisconsin actually does "wear them down" in the 2nd half. I think it would be even more helpful if the Wisconsin secondary would eventually arrive at the Rose Bowl. MGO said it earlier, that the Wisconsin D is not a great defense. Pretty average. They win by controlling the clock, punching it into the endzone, and keeping your offense off the field. Great game so far.

I knew they were the favorites and now I see why. I don't get to see much MWC during the season but these guys are the real deal and are getting a chance to prove it to the entire country. A long way to go in this one but TCU has been impressive. Speed kills.

Props to TCU. Great gameplan on both sides of the ball. Not sure why Wisky was taking their time on the last drive.

Game over.

RACK TCU. They really brought their game. No more arguments about their legitimacy.

That was a helluva' football game and I couldn't be happier for TCU gutting out a win against a bigger, stronger team. Whole lotta' heart in that squad.

Yeah but they still never deserve to play for a national title because they don't play anyone.

If UConn beats OU, I'm putting a match to my pick 'em sheet and will never enter another. Okay, that's probably a lie.

Nice job out of the Big 10 today. Jeez, 0 and fucking 5 on New Year's Day. Fuck me runnin'.

So you're betting with your heart and not your head, which I can understand and respect. I figured as much.

But that being the case, why this snobbish, imperious attitude towards these supposedly lesser schools? That I can't understand and have zero respect for.

Or maybe you're just trolling, in which case I am completely ambivalent.

No, he is snobbish and believes that a mid-major can never be good enough to contend for a national title.

But at least Iowa won, so it should all be gravy for you now. I can damn sure tell you that if Mizzou had won, I wouldn't give two shits for either the Big 12 or my picks sheet.

Yeah, it was.

Save for a couple of positions (sup Julio), TCU is a faster team.

Now depth, on the other hand...

Playing in a BTPCFB conference, and having some tradition (sup MA), and having a rather recent Trinket in your case has its advantages.

Bammer has a whole bunch more bodies to throw at the problem than TCU.

But 22-for-22, TCU is probably faster.

44-for-44, maybe not so much.

The only certainty in that one would be my ass in front of a TV.

Oh, I don't really give a shit about how the games come out. My rooting interest for every game is who I picked to win...and I always pick Iowa. Wisconsin and Penn State are the only two that let me down today because they're the only two Big 10 schools I picked to win.

Nice sense of humor, Gramps. Understandable how that would disappear during the course of the Cockeyes' season.

Montee Ball wound up 4 yards short of being the third 1000 yard rusher on the Badgers this year. Small consolation, I know. Great season nonetheless. At least we're not Iowa.

Umm, in a word.......no.

I watched both games pretty intently and TCU looked like they were going in slo mo vs Bama. Bama's speed, particularly in the trenches, was vastly more impressive and overwhelming.

Sure, TCU could beat them in an any-give-saturday type situation, but if TODAY'S TCU team matched up with TODAY'S Bama team...it wouldn't even be close. That was one ridiculously fast and physical team.

Seen a couple of Bama games this season (OK not TODAY's Bama but the same team) where they actually looked kind of slow (maybe they just weren't in the mood?).

Maybe it depends on who they're playing. TCU looked fast against Wisky. Bama looked fast against MSU.

Hmmm...what does that say about the B10?

I don't give a shit if you went to ITT Technical Institute, you should be homering for them over anyone, including Heaven U, with God, Buddha, and Allah in the backfield, running the Eternal Option.

Oh, I hate 'em as much as I ever did, but tough not to give credit when it's due. I'm sure most of you didn't watch much of the game, and I can't blame you. Every fucking snap, Bama defenders were in the backfield. And every snap on defense, MSU couldn't get a lick of penetration. Oh, and the injuries...

MSU's starting OLB
MSU's other starting OLB
MSU's starting CB
MSU's best WR
MSU's starting QB
MSU's 2nd string QB

...all left the game due to injury. By the 4th quarter a WR was playing QB. And they weren't fluke injuries, they all got blasted out of the game. There were a couple others too, but those dudes returned. These were game ending injuries. I haven't seen a woodshed beating this bad since MSU played the 95 Huskers. But this one was even worse because they were actually supposed to be competitive.
