Reports that Rich Rodriguez has been fired are premature. TheWolverine.com has learned that no decision on the Michigan head coach's future will come until tomorrow.
The players' meeting that had been scheduled for tonight at 7:00 p.m. has been delayed until tomorrow at 4:00.

eh, i hope so. i know we have people like shoalzie who are the cfb equivalent of those right-wing christian buttfucks who yearn for a return to some halcyon days that never existed, but a return to lloyd-ball is not the answer. we spent most years under carr in the bottom half of big ten rushing offenses. dickrod took three years to put together the second best rushing attack even though he was working with a first-year starter and no clear #1 back.
the problem is obviously defense. he brought a scheme to the big ten he insisted would work but hasn't as well as an organizational strategy (hey you, stand around while all your assistants coach a scheme you're wholly unfamiliar with) that is, well, confounding. it's perfectly fine to go apeshit on him for this, but every other coach in the history of the multiverse who's been on the hot seat for the first time was given a second chance as long as he was willing to jettison his assistants, so why not dickrod? fire the defensive staff, bring in someone who runs a 4-3, let him hire his own assistants, and then let dickrod have at it with his first fully functioning, mature offense, especially considering next year's schedule sets up for a nice run. would be a shame to waste it on a transition to brady hoke.
and really, brady hoke? great, he did well in the mac. tell me who hasn't? aside from a few black holes (go eastern!), it's the easiest conference to resurrect some shitty team. happens so often it's part of the conference's profile. and great, eeking out wins at sdsu against wyoming and colorado state. his other selling point is nepotism. great, he "understands" the culture at michigan, which means he'll be a bit more sad than dickrod's been after yet another loss to osu.

If I was from the Bay, and had a choice between making 2 buhzillion in the Preferable Part of the Bay, or making 2.5 buhzillion living in frozen tundra?
I'll get back to you on that one.

damn, people will drop all sorts of BS to make their dipshit points:
mitch albom can gfy.
i like this quote:
Instead, Martin, playing the more popular card, ignored Lloyd Carr's suggestions, moved away from Carr's staff or even his recommendations, and went after the hot new thing, which is the kind of behavior most schools exhibit. And it explains why most schools don't stay on top for very long.
ja, that would have worked out: ron english or stan debord. where is stan debord anyhow? i think he's a qb coach or something at tennessee. and ron english is winning 1 game a year in the mac.
also, don't know why people keep bringing up dickrod's overall record since he's been here. sure, sounds good to say he's only 15-22, but that first team of his had a crater where the talent used to be and it was expected we'd suck, yet now that's used as an indictment? some people pretend we would have been 8-4 had one of the carr assistants gotten the job, but the 05 team (stocked with talent) only went 7-5, so why do people just assume a team with half the talent would be better? because of a pro-style offense?
shit's making people stupid. just hire someone to run the defense and call it a day.

Listened to the Brandon presser on the radio making the news official...said all the right things and he sounds like he knows what he's doing. I know, major understatement...it's the biggest move he'll probably have to make as AD. Found it interesting that he talked quite openly about Harbaugh. He even thinks he's going to the NFL.

With the Michigan job now officially open, I am rooting for Harbaugh to stay at Stanford because I think it would be hilarious to see a coach that played at Michigan choose Stanford over them.
Come on Jim..............stay at Stanford. Fuck the NFL and coaching REAL football! Stay in college where championships are won and lost where they belong- on message boards such as this!

Ross better get Harbaugh when he's throwing all that bread at him while Sparano is twisting in the warm gulf breeze.

Fish already having tried Saban from the college ranks, seems a bit odd move to me.

Looks like the Broncos are out of the picture and, according to Elway, Harbaugh is leaning toward staying at Stanford.

The Broncos will still be paying McDaniels AND Shanahan in 2011.

ron english and stan debord as well. left them out since they're the reason half the alumni were pissed we didn't hire instead of dickrod.

Of course there should always be an asterisk next to failed coaches from EMU.
