Loving your dog is no vice.
Just be prepared for the heartbreak when you have to put it down. Dogs don't live near as long as they should.

I'd say it's the stress of not having a smoke. You should head down to the hospital, push the nurses aside and hand that man a marlboro before it's too late.

Skoal mint and wintergreen would be at the top of my list of vices, as would my being a Cub fan. Beer used to be a vice but I've seriously reduced my consumption of barley pop. I gave up a two pack a day smoking habit in 1990 but will still have a cigarette on rare occasions. I'm pretty sure that being a Cub fan will kill me before my tobacco habit.

Vices?
You mean besides booze, smokes, weed, 1/2 gallon-a-day coffee, poker, and chicks?
Nothing comes to mind.

Wow. Thanks for the clarification.

Of course, the quantities of your other vices prolly make 1/2 gallon a day of coffee look like child's play by comparison.

Biggest vice is golf. Would play every day if I could. And like many other vices, it tortures me what with all the cooning.
Speaking of golf, got out on the course yesterday with the boy for the first time this year. Could not believe how good the swing feels.

Stopped drinking on Jan 1st this year. No, It wasn't some lame new year's resolution, I was hung over and nauseous for almost three days after drinking a bottle of wine and two beers.
Quitting the worm dirt today. I've been doing the lozenges at work for a couple of weeks and just having one or two chews at night, so I'm ready. That and I'm sick of carrying a bottle of brown spit around with me everywhere.
Spray, instead of salty fattening snacks, mix in munchy stuff that isn't bad for you like grapes or carrots.

Dipped Copenhagen for 15 years. Quit dozens of times. Wife busted me dipping prolly 7 times or so. Not a fun fight. Hardest thing I have ever had to get over but I no longer chew my lip til it bleeds every day. No craving whatsoever even when I drink. I carry about 10 more pounds than I did three years ago but I am much better off without that shit ruling me.
Copenhagen for 10 years and quit in Oct 92 when my flight surgeon saw my receding and bleeding gums. Quit cold turkey and the withdrawals were the worst for about 5 days. Since he and most of the pilots dipped he asked me for my remaining stash.
Two 2-liter bottles of Diet Pepsi for countless years. Quit that a few years ago.
Current vice? You'd be surprised to hear this... drinking beer.

Interesting you say that. A "quitter" from cigs gave me his prescription chicklettes since he couldn't quit smoking and I went thru that box of 36 in one day. Then I used Levi G to help with the withdrawals. Copenhagen was the devil to quit. Shakes, sweats, nightmares, no sleep, etc. for 5 days.

Beer.
I figured out right away that I didnt want to risk haveing more than one bad vice, so I never tried weed/smokes or chew. Im positive that I would love marijuana...so I never went there.
Oh...I cant go by a convienence store without buying a candybar. Three Musketeers and Babyruths mostly. Used to be massivly addicted to Mike N Ikes. Love sugar.

These fuckers on the right are addicting:
They're so good you'd swear it's a vice. I've been unable to go without at least one a day.
I've been getting 2lbs for $1 over at some little market a few blocks from my house.
I think I depleted their stock last week. No joke.

fresh produce has got to be the only thing you can buy cheaply on the left coast.
anyone else here a clementine fan? a box of those fukkers can vanish in an afternoon at casa de smack, but this year.....not so much. for some reason this years clementine crop are absolute shit. prolly because of global warm...i mean climate change. i 'spose the desert that spain has turned into ain't too good at growing them anymore.

Absolutely not true.
We can get meth, heroin, and weed cheap as all hell, too.
But since we can grow all that shit in our yard rather effortlessly, it æfects supply/demand (except this time of year -- produce is as high as I've ever seen it right now). Up North here, we can't do the tropical/citrus stuff, but the temperate edibles grow like weeds... although I met someone who swears they know a variety of avocado that ripens right here in Portland. I told him "bring me a seed, or STFU."

I have been eating lettuce and carrots out of my cold frame all winter. Started my spring crop of cool vegetables in the cold frame a couple of weeks ago. Going for about 800 pounds ( or more) of vegetables this year.
Been looking at this medical weed growing thing, that is completely legal here in the U & L. Trouble is, I have never seen a bud that did not need to be " processed". Right then and there.

Just have to treat it like any other crop I guess.
