Not trolling, Van. Your league is the old WAC I grew up with as a kid. Late night starts, lot's of points - high entertainment on a Saturday night. To be taken seriously compared to other leagues? No so much.
Numbers of All Americans, Heisman Trophy winners, national title game participants, and players on NFL rosters says you're either trolling or absolutely stupid. Since I know you're not stupid, let's just opt for trolling. The talent in the PAC is so far beyond the WAC that it's not even worth discussing. In fact, comparing on a percentage basis, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see that the PAC places more people than the Big XII on NFL rosters.
Iowa St? Same ol' Iowa St. Mid-pack-to-doormat in the Pac, and nothing more, same as always.

The Worst team in the PAC... plays a better game against Okie State then the 2nd best team in the little 12, says all you need to know about the little 12.

Tru, the Pac boasts Oregon's, Stanford's and USC's offenses. There isn't a conference in the country that can touch that trio. They have the top two QBs in the NFL draft, and they're both only juniors. They have the best O-Lineman in all of college football, who will likely go #2 in the draft..and he's also only a junior. They have the best offensive backfield in all of college football in Oregon's stable of freaks. They have the best pair of receivers in the country in USC's Woods/Lee combo, and we're talking true freshmen and sophomores here.
The amount of offensive talent in the Pac 12 is easily on par with anyone in the country, and it's not even debatable. Instead of trolling, try staying up late enough to see what you're missing. Or, just crack a newspaper, preferably one that includes NFL draft analysis.

Except for LSU's schedule, you're right. The thing is, as always, it comes down to losses in the BCS beauty pageant. Bama's loss is forgivable. Okie St's isn't.

"Trolling" would be suggesting that the Cyclones could win your league. My point all along is that they are not the suck you make them out to be. Paul Rhodes is doing a helluva job building that program, and I can assure you Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas want no piece of them in the coming years.
The "old WAC" comment was a nod to the highly entertaining style of football played out west - not an indictment of its talent. Most certainly the talent is there... WHY you people don't win more is another question. Is it the coaching? Is it because you people are soft? Maybe it's the dearth of good quality fried chicken and jambalaya served to the brothers in your parts.
Regardless, PAC football doesn't scare anybody. Again, this isn't a slam... Just an observation. Why do you think the B1G is so adament about keeping the Rose Bowl affiliation? They know they have a chance to compete if matched up against a PAC team. Slot anybody else in there... Not so much. The B1G is the PAC without nearly the fun...

Although I'm not as impressed with the Pokes as I am shocked at the way OU is playing. Pitiful.
I wish things had worked out differently, though. I'd give anything to see Alabama play Oklahoma State. That would be a great matchup. Best defense in the country against OSU's offense. And a much better offense than LSU's to roll against the Cowboys.
You know, if somehow Okie Lite does get into the title game, I wouldn't be shocked if they won it.
Sammie, I'm shocked your wife allows you to post at night, from home even. Or did you have to sneak back into work to get that in?
Good for you, my friend, good for you.
I think Oklahoma State has shed the "Okie Lite" tag tonight.

Tru, are you high? The Big 10 vs the Pac in the Rose Bowl? The Pac fucking owns the Big 10.
And no one fears the Pac? Whenever USC is on top, they sure do. No one plays better OOC.

Really? Let's see...
Oregon #2
Baylor #3
Oklahoma State #5
Oklahoma #6
Texas A&M #7
Stanford #10
Missouri #13
Texas Tech #14
USC #20
Hmmm. Eight teams with better offenses than USC. And six of them don't even play in the PAC. Wonder what 10-team league they DO play in? I'm thinking your "untouchables" might be in for a ball game were the football gods to schedule one...

Jesus, Tru, it's so weird to be debating college football with you, dontcha think? This is almost a first for us, isn't it? What's going to be even weirder is when we revisit this shit in three years, only now you'll be a staunch SECBSH who (correctly) rags on the remnants of the Big XII for playing no defense.

No, the key here is the B1G
thinks they can beat the PAC. That's what makes that game so damn much fun! Every year, we hear how bad-ass the B1G champion is, and the PAC always sends them home tail-tucked after beating the dog shit out of them. You people do the country a service!
As for USC... Um, no. Sorry, Van, but... No.
Only time in my life I've ever rooted for Texas. PAC hasn't been a legitimate threat to the MNC since (sorry Dins).

Oregon lost the national title on the last play of the game, via a FG. They were definitely a threat to win it all last year.
Whenever USC is in it, you damn well know they're in it to win it.

Don't you dare lump me in with those egg-sucking dawgs!
We got a shot at the East next year. Enough talent returning to give Georgia pause. If we get those fuckers in Columbia, the Division very well may be up for grabs. But I gotta think that's an awfully tight window for success, and Mizzou has a whole lotta work to do if they expect to be apart of any future SEC discussions.

would that LSU players could extend their confidence into the NFL, where they routinely underachieve.
Gee, I wonder which fat, dumb and happy LSU bust the Chiefs will draft in the first round next year?

Was really hoping for an OU win so we could get even for the 2010 Luckless loss, but it was obvious pretty quickly that it was not to happen.
No matter, though. Stanford will kick Okie State's ass back to flyover country on Jan 2 and put to rest the myth that Big12 football carries even one functional testicle.

I didn't say shit about the Big10.
But I do think that the Big 12 is highly overrated. How OU lost only 2 games before yesterday is beyond explanation, except that they play in a shit conference and play a weak OOC schedule.

Yeah, because the Big 10 has 4 teams in the top 10 defensively and the Pac has zero in the top 20. Try again, tubby.

Some of us have both a great offense and a great defense. And truly horrific special teams.

Well, in all the hoopla over "9-6! Gah! Shitty SEC offenses!" people need to remember that those same two teams averaged boatloads of points in every other game. They're going to score a lot more than a couple/few FGs against anyone else, and nobody is going to score their usual average against those two defenses.

They did -- less than 3 years ago, Holiday Bowl (before the Holiday was demoted).
It was a second-half beating, as one would expect.

Interestingly LSU is 75th in total offense, 16th in scoring offense. Seems like the defense has a lot to do with their boatloads of points. Mediocre offense at best. Hopefully the humans do the right thing and push Okie State to #2.
