Romney's VP, call it

Re: Romney's VP, call it
The Supreme Court has never ruled directly on the question of what is exactly meant by natural born citizen, so yeah, Wagon, the 'birthers' are not convinced that Barry (who's alleged father was admittedly not a citizen) is natural born, regardless of whether or not he was really born in Hawaii.
The same concerns (what natural born really means) apply to some republicans.

What "natural born really means" has been clearly and unequivocally established for centuries. It is common law. If Ofailure was born in Hawaii, he is a natural born citizen.poptart wrote:The Supreme Court has never ruled directly on the question of what is exactly meant by natural born citizen, so yeah, Wagon, the 'birthers' are not convinced that Barry (who's alleged father was admittedly not a citizen) is natural born, regardless of whether or not he was really born in Hawaii.

But lawyers are advocates by nature, they make cases, rather than understand them. And if they did, they wouldn't tell you as it doesn't suit their interest. mv may be a crackpot, but he is a history student.

Re: Romney's VP, call it
Rubio won't be picked because of his previous financial problems. It goes contrary to the Republican narrative that the Romney/fill-in-the-blank ticket is savvy on steering the economy back on track and can create jobs. While he has many upsides, his financial history makes him toxic during the campaign.
However, to judge by Ann Romney's comments, it may be Kelly Whatshername from New Hampshire, although I wish it were Condi myself.

Jsc, it's one thing for you to be disillusioned with the current Republican party, so you're bailing on them. I get that. It's quite another to be so openly touting Obama now, as if he hasn't been a miserable failure as president.

Re: Romney's VP, call it
Excellent choice of articles to highlight the idiot in charge. So despite not being able to fix the economy or unemployment the market has rebounded. Sure seems to point to the fact he had zero to do with it.
Funny the market rebounded just like it always has despite the idiot in the White House.

Analysis: Obama presidency great for stocks
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Barack Obama often gets slammed for his stewardship of the U.S. economy, but for stock investors, he's been one of the best presidents since World War Two.
At 1,400, the S&P 500 on Friday was closing in on a four-year high and was up 74 percent since January 20, 2009, the day Obama took office. Not since Dwight Eisenhower's first term has a president had such a strong run for their first term.
That rally might be just enough to get Obama re-elected, making him the first sitting president in the post-war era to win a second term with a jobless rate higher than 7.2 percent.
"Even though business and corporate sentiment is not good for Obama because they don't think he's been good for the economy, the fact that the market has done very well under him is a positive," said Ethan Siegal, head of The Washington Exchange, which analyzes politics for institutional investors.
Soon after taking office, the president even waded into the dangerous territory of stock market prognostication.
On March 3, 2009, Obama, responding to a question about a market that was plumbing 12-year lows, said: "What you're now seeing is profit and earning ratios are starting to get to the point where buying stocks is a potentially good deal, if you've got a long-term perspective on it."
The S&P 500 hit bottom a week later. Three years on, U.S. stocks have more than doubled, adding $6.8 trillion in market capitalization.
Every point can be refuted or spun a different way.
Do you even have a clue how much money is sitting out of the market right now ? Fucking billions. My bro in law took about 1.7 M out of the market, bought a couple properties and banked the rest. Not going back in any time soon. Already meet his investment goals so fuck it.
Of course, you being an attorney and all, this talk about business and finance may as well be in Chinese for you.

In a way I'm thinking it was a good choice. We need Rubio in the Senate to provide the leadership there when the GOP takes over.
