The reason we were taking a closer look at SA was because that's where the Navy Recruiting depot is, I believe? Since the husband isn't sure he'll be wanting to extend for another 3 yrs., or even IF they'll let him change rates to go....I suppose Austin is a viable option.

A fellow Navy Chief on his boat just secured a supervisory position on an oil rig in Houston, and told him to look into it as well. I guess the pay is pretty good, and a 28 on, 28 off work schedule isn't bad....coming from the sub schedules that we're used to.


Do any of you know anything about these oil rigs, or have worked on one before?

i saw a couple episodes of some reality tv show about oil rig workers. mostly they all are roided out drug addicts.

What is hubby's rate?

If he is an ETC, is he a real one, or one of the countless other operator type rates that they all decided would be ETs from now on.

He ain't a nuke, is he? All sorts of companies looking to hire nukes as they are allegedly smart.

I had the CCM 752 kevlar tacks when I played roller hockey. We had to have the Konki frames mounted on them because they sponsored our tournament team.

I skate with these now. They're super comfy after I heat molded them to my foot, so I don't see a need to upgrade.




The Bauers of the past have always been too narrow and just really uncomfortable in the toe cap for me, although I've been told they've redesigned them since they merged with Nike 7 years ago.

I don't skate as much as I used to, or should. I'm trying to put together a skate-n-shoot at the local rink for Mike's boat, and hopefully get something going while we're here for the next year.

He doesn't have the mental nads to be a nuke, unfortunately. Not like I would either.

Back when I was on active duty, there was a Navy reg that said no non-phillipinos in the mess specialist (since changed to culinary specialist) rating above PO2.

Maybe it's different with bubbleheads or he got a waiver or something. They don't call it the Phillipino mafia for nothing.

Makes sense. I believe warren worked on those rigs.
