If I had a vote, the way I would approach my rankings would be to sort teams into tiers based on eye test, and then use objective data to sort those that I feel are on equal footing. If ND was ranked ahead of KSU, I don't think it would be any great travesty, but I wouldn't agree with it.

According to the computers, Notre Dame is #1, KSU is #2, and Oregon #4 behind Florida.

I watched that game, did you? The outcome was never in doubt, the only question was if they'd cover the spread or not. It wasn't a scab dick win, if that's the myopic, ignorant point you were trying to make.

I'd feel a whole lot more charitable towards KSU if they hadn't scheduled their way into as few potential losses as possible, beginning with the pussified Bill Snyder move of chickening out against Oregon. Had they simply honored that commitment we'd already have this three-team deal down to two teams.
ND has played the tougher schedule while being the Super Bowl game for most every team they've faced this season. Fuck Snyder's Path of Least Resistance garbage. It should not be rewarded.

Really? 17-14 at half time seems to me like the game was never in doubt.

Or when ISU scored to cut it to a 3 point game in the 4th, totally in control.
Did you quit watching the game before or after ISU got the ball back with over two minutes to go with a chance to win? Hell, by your definition, aTm had nothing to worry about with Bama. That interception at the goal line and offsides on 4th down were just icing on the cake.

It was a statement of fact.
If and when you raise my ire enough to warrant "some sort of smack", you'll be the first to know.
Run along now, lil feller. See if you can step to Screwy, he's more your speed.
Van?
KSU doesn't need or want your charity. You may run along now too.

Of course not. With Bill Snyder running things they give themselves all the charity they could ever need.
Go ahead and explain away their vaginal decision to bail on the Oregon game for no other reason than a blatant unwillingness to risk a loss, then explain why that decision shouldn't be held against them.
And you're in no position to be directing anyone's comings and goings, so get over yourself.

Sure buddy. Do you want to lie about some more games you watched? How can a game never be in doubt except to see if the line would be covered, like you said, if the point spread was only 7?

Yes, they're supposed to be punished for a game they cancelled out of sheer cowardice. Their SOS isn't as strong as ND's, and that should weigh in ND's favor particularly since K St intentionally weakened their own SOS by pulling out of the only risky non conference game on their schedule.
Do you really want to reward those types of chickenshit moves or would you rather reward a team for scheduling the likes of Michigan, Sparty, Miami, BYU, Stanford, OU and USC?

Some of you are pretty funny.
Oregon kicked the ball to Kal 12 freaking times. 12 possessions, 2 TDs and a FG. 2-12 on 3rd down.
3 scores in 12 possessions. They averaged less than 30 yards a possession.
With defensive linemen numbers 1-5 not playing. Most of the defense was second-stringers.
What does the Oregon defense have to do... cure cancer?

Oh, you're such a drama queen. The game hasn't been "cancelled", just rescheduled to be played in January 2013.
Yes, the series was cancelled, Van, after Oregon requested in 2010 that the 2011 game in Manhattan be moved so they could open the season with LSU. Moving the game created issues for KSU because of the Big 12 conference re-alignment that forced them to lose a date for an OOC game. Could they have found dates to play Oregon in a home and home series? Probably, but it was Oregon who first requested to alter the original contract, not K-State. Hardly the first time this has happened in Division I football....because it happens all of the time. Georgia has also cancelled a two game series with the Ducks for 2015-16.

Smart money says that after poll average, Oregon will be #1 in the BCS (and won't look back).
Oregon will probably get to #1 if they win out but it was pretty clear to anyone who isn't a Duck fan that it wasn't going to happen this week....and likely not for another 3 weeks (assuming KSU beats Baylor and Texas).
If any of the top 3 lose, UGA isn't out of it.
Unlikely, but a possibility.
True, but I was "punishing" Georgia for cancelling a two game series with the Ducks in 2015-16.

News to me (and everyone else, from what I can tell).
Oregon asked to reschedule so they could play LSU (and pull a monster check, most likely).
KSU bailed to play a 1AA.
Just a little different.
Georgia on the other hand... at least they're honest. New AD came, and flat-out said they were pussying out.

I was joking, although it looks like that's going to be the matchup...at the moment anyway.
Oregon asked to reschedule so they could play LSU (and pull a monster check, most likely).
That's right, Oregon bailed on the first year of the contract. Heaven forbid that the Ducks would have said no to LSU because they the integrity to honor a contract.
KSU bailed to play a 1AA.
Well, they had to schedule
somebody on short notice after Oregon broke the original contract.
Big Difference.
I agree. Oregon broke the contract for the first game to be played in Manhattan so they could whore themselves out for more money (according to you), and KSU told Oregon to go fuck themselves.

Van said it in two different posts and Mace responded without bringing it up.
When Van brought it up a 3rd time... I had to step in and tell him to back out of the thread or I would embarrass him.
The next day Mace asks himself... "what the hell is the truth talking about" and looks it up today, then posts about it. If Mace knew about it at the time he would have hammered Van on the spot. Me, being the nice guy, gave Van an easy way out.

M2, I knew what you were talking about, and so did Van and Dins...even though he posted his Duck biased version of events. I did look it up this morning because I wanted to get the facts right before posting, but I was already aware of the events leading up to that series being cancelled....as were a number of other folks here, I'm sure.

This. With only three non-cons and Miami already scheduled, there was no way in hell Snyder was going to play Oregon in the wake of Allign-mageddon. What Van calls cowardice, most thinking observers of this game would call common sense.

Furthermore, the game was actually agreed to and scheduled, so this argument that Snyder merely didn't want to risk a loss doesn't hold water. If that's all this was about, then he wouldn't have even taken the phone call.

Bottom line.....they would have played this year if Oregon hadn't backed out of year #1 of the contract. K-State was obviously trying to beef up their SOS, until Oregon apparently went for the money grab to play LSU. Not playing hurt KSU's SOS as much, if not more, as Oregon's, and Oregon needs to look into the mirror if they're looking for someone to blame. We wouldn't be in here discussing this if Oregon had honored their contract to play in 2011.
