Manziel, Bortles, Bridgewater, Carr - from start to finish, those were the names being talked about as the top QBs in the draft. McCarron was never mentioned with that group. Hell, even the kid out of Eastern Illinois was slotted ahead of McCarron on mock draft boards, so it was no real surprise that he went before him.

Guys with criminal/legal histories get drafted in the first and second rounds. And you think poor interview skills dropped him three whole rounds?

The delusion is strong with this one.

Off-the-field stuff doesn't mean jack if you can play. The NFL will look past it. It can hurt the fringe guys though.

It might be telling to hear the number of scouts he talked to and what their credentials are. Interesting that while the vast majority of scouts he spoke to saw McCarron as a second- or third-round pick, none of them were able to convince their teams to pick him in the second or third round. Or the fourth, for that matter.

Late third-round pick, I might buy.

First or second-round? Nah. If he was graded out as such according to the "vast majority of NFL scouts," then there's no way he plummets all the way to late in the fifth, not on poor interview skills alone. 90% of the league is full of brash, arrogant assholes...many of whom can barely formulate a coherent sentence.

Personality might drop you a few spots. Mediocre talent will drop you a few rounds.
