Where would that 120th ranked defense be without him?

Remember 10 of 11 starters on defense are out for the season, in make believe world.

He also told us that the guys playing were 3rd and 4th string Frosh and soph. Damn just imagine this cal defense had they been able to play the second string guys. Prolly would have cracked the top 115 defenses in the country.

So is he the 1 of the 11 that is still starting? Or is it Carter? Or is it one of the other 5 guys still starting from the beginning of the year?

Not only from the beginning of the year but also at the end of spring ball and from fall camp.

Well, Cal keeps doing what Cal keeps doing...

Owning the NFL... and smashing records.

Last week... Marvin Jones set a franchise record (Cincinnati Bengals) with 4 TD receptions in a single game...

If you were to put together a "NFL Fantasy Football Team" by school...

... No school could even come close to Cal.

You on the other hand... are not an alum of the "University of Notre Dame".

Well, that only took about 75 years or so...

Oh yeah, you actually still lose... even if you think you won.

Cal simply puts more "quality" players into the NFL.

Alabama... is rather embarrassing when it comes to this.

Hey shit for brains....if Cal is so fucking good, why can't they ever do shit? All you have is meaningless shit ass statistics. Well we suck so I'll pull the my guy did well in the NFL card, or my guy has a higher GPA than your guys bullshit. Face it asshole, your team sucks. They've always sucked, you suck, everything you post sucks so quit with the we had less penalty yards than you did bullshit. Cal is a pathetic excuse for a football program right now.

Good news on the Cal front today...

They are only next to last in total defense in FBS. It would be very difficult for them to actually finish in last due to just how horrible New Mexico State is. Cal would have to allow over 650 yards per game over their last 3 and USC and Colorado can't come anywhere close to that even with tackling dummies on the opposite side of the line of scrimmage.

To be fair (like that matters when talking about Cal football), Dykes' Bear-Rape defense has squared off against teams that can score prodigiously -- Midnorthwestern, tOSU, Oregon, Arizona, UDub, Wazzu (they can score, just can't stop anyone else from scoring), UCLA, ntOSU...

All teams that can light it up. I'm guessing if Bama had played those teams, their defensive stats would be radically different (as would the BCS rankings).

That said, Cal's defense fuggin sucks, reagrdless of opponent. They gave up 30 to Portland Freaking State.

That **woooosh was the sound of the point flying over your head.

Winning or losing is moot.

You going to argue that Bama wouldn't have given up more points if they had faced Cal's schedule than their own? I hope so, since the pile-on would be entertaining.

As far as the rankings -- do you disagree that the BCS standings would look different had tOSU and Bama played (not to mention Oregon and UCLA)? Are you OK?

You're right. Bama and tOSU would still be #1 and respectively if they'd played. And if Bama and Oregon had played, they'd still be #1 and #2, regardless who won, right?

Over the years, I've noticed that SEC Fan's IQ is in direct inverse proportion to their team's record.

And since you missed the point -- it was that Cal, other than the one cupcake they eked a win against, plays an absolutely brutal schedule this year. Don't get me wrong, I don't think their record would be any different if they'd played tOSU or Louisville's schedule, just that their defensive stats wouldn't be quite as entertaining bad.

That might be a clue because, from what I hear, it's the midwestern cousin of Berserkley.

Usage Note: Alumnus and alumna both come from Latin and preserve Latin plurals. Alumnus is a masculine noun whose plural is alumni, and alumna is a feminine noun whose plural is alumnae. Coeducational institutions usually use alumni for graduates of both sexes. But those who object to masculine forms in such cases may prefer the phrase alumni and alumnae or the form alumnae/i, which is the choice of many women's colleges that have begun to admit men.

Many colleges and universities use alumnus and alumna exclusively for graduates. This has led to some confusion especially in hiring situations where applicants will refer to themselves as an alumnus or alumna of a school when they did not in fact graduate. Many employers, colleges and universities are pushing for a more narrow definition of alumnus or alumna to include only graduates and to use former students for those who matriculated but did not graduate.

Looks like m2 will have to change his tune at some point.

No. I made a simple statement regarding the term alumnus. You just get blubber your all a-shakin' because someone didn't choose to join you in another of your pileons. Fuck off, fatso.
