Bad comparison.
It is a bad comparison, and I like Neil Young quite well. You asked me to please make it stop and since you asked so nicely, that's what I did.
Tone deaf? You really asked for it, feller.
Here's the studio version I think Mgo first played in chat radio that had me scrambling to find out more about this band. And hey, they're pretty close to being a U&L band. Give it a listen.

Don't bother, Wags. Why make it some pursuit to get others to like what you like? Especially when their mind is already made up, and not out of any genuine hatred for the thing they're insulting, but out of their constant need to play the role of contrarian. It's an attention whoring thing.
LOOK AT ME! PAY ATTENTION TO ME AND MY SUPERIOR OPINION!! YOU CAN'T LIKE SOMETHING IF I DON'T LIKE IT!
Besides, I've seen Dinsdale's, uhh, pedestrian taste in music. Whatever he doesn't issue is reason enough for me to give it a listen.

Yes it is... since about the mid-90's. They ain't exactly new on the scene, and I'd love to like them, since they play shows here quite frequently.
Wags -- if a band sounds good in a studio effort, and struggle to hit one right note on stage... guess what?
And I won't say anything yet, since the deal isn't sealed, but I might well be issuing an awesome band tomorrow in a small club that belies their popularity (for all of 3 bucks, no less). Hopefully, they're not a product of studio tricks (although I guess Danger Mouse is a good guy to mask a lack of live ability).
I'll keep you posted, since you care.
BTW -- amazing array of shows here this month.

They're a great live band. You wouldn't know that because you haven't seen them 'cept for a couple grainy YouTube vids, which clearly makes you an authority on their live performances.
Doug Martsch isn't exactly a classically trained vocalist, no arguments there. BTS are just a bunch of balding, bearded old dudes who like to rock out. They aren't trying to win any contests on The Voice.
You can have your polished cookie cutter rock. I prefer a more raw sound. Different strokes.

Oh. I see.
It's just that...I clicked on the T1B radio button and found myself in an empty room...figured he was pulling his regular draw...
I didn't stick around long enough to see if Wags would log in and request some Zeppelin.

Marty should stay a little more current. My LZ show was 3 years ago. I never did an all Pink Floyd show. This is my most recent setlist. I bet there is nowhere near enough obscure bands singing about cutting themselves to suit Marty's taste.
1. Santana - Spring Manifestations (1:05)
2. Santana - Canto de los Flores (3:38)
3. Al Stewart - On The Border (3:22)
4. Steely Dan - Deacon Blues (7:37) (Dedicated to the University of Alabama)
5. Tom Jones - Burning down the house (3:31)
6. Johnny Otis - Willie And The Hand Jive (3:18)
7. Professor Longhair - Stag-O-Lee (2:57)
8. Alabama Shakes - Heartbreaker (3:47)
9. Elton John - Roy Rogers (4:07)
10. Neil Young - Unknown Legend (4:32)
11. David Bowie - Moonage Daydream (4:39)
12. The Doors - Peace Frog (2:52)
13. Booker T & The MGs - Wand Dang Doodle (2:51)
14. Creedence Clearwater Revival - I Heard It Through the Grapevine (11:09)
15. Pete Townshend - Behind Blue Eyes (3:49)
16. UFO - Doctor Doctor (4:42)
17. Joe Walsh - Meadows (4:39)
18. Waylon Jennings - Honky Tonk Heroes (3:37)

26. Jimi Hendrix - Valleys Of Neptune (4:04)
27. Fleetwood Mac - Shake Your Moneymaker (3:13)
28. Peter Gabriel - I Don't Remember (4:41)
29. Led Zeppelin - Celebration Day (3:29)
30. Genesis - Dance on a Volcano (5:53)

I've seen ELP a couple of times years ago, and "bombastic" is a good descriptor. Not sure how a keyboardist can be as energetic and animated as Keith, but the standing on the rocking-keys and stabbing it to death with knives is... interesting.
Amazing live band, but I doubt MGO would like them, since they play in tune.

Come on, Dohron, you're only a few hundred miles (and 60-70 IQ points) shy of being a Canuck yourself.

Don't recall Emerson using that when I saw them. Do remember him lying on top of the grand piano (not spinning then) and plucking the strings during Take a Pebble. Funny to see them in the U-tube clips. They were so young. So were we.

Goobs is way closer to Sault St. Marie than he is to the 49th parallel. But even taking the shortcut over the UP doesn't change the likely outcome. As Google Maps sees it, Goober is about 418 miles from Canada. Which means that Derron would have to live south of Cottage Grove, OR to be further than Goober from Canada.
