It's not so bad. Just make sure to turn off the IKYABWAI alert setting or your phone will be buzzing every 5 minutes.

Not a problem. I installed KC BLOCK Plus+.

Best $0.99 I ever spent.

Odd, I don't see Madison on the list -- must have been an omission.

The only battle here was for #2 (although everything I've sampled from the Denver area is pretty much crap, but I certainly haven't been to the city to partake of the little guys).

Dude, give it up. Portland is the craft brew capital. It is what it is. Madison's not even in the same tier as Grand Rapids or Asheville.

Who cares? How many options do you need?

Well scratch Madison off the list. Spent enough time in GR to know I never need to go back...and if Madison is worse...

Then again that doesn't match up with what I have heard of Wisconsin. Every last person from Wisconsin always refers to the state as God's country or God's backyard, so someone must be lying.

No argument there. And if you look at our Craft Beer Week guide, it's not all about Madison area beers. It's a lot of Midwest beers. It's also an excuse to fuck with Dinsdale.

Grand Crapids (and the entire state of Michigan) is basically the butthole of the Earth.

Never said GR is a destination city. It's a nice mid-sized market with stuff to do, good schools, and a surprisingly good beer scene.

Too many religious freaks though. Poptart would love it here.

You just don't like the cold in GR. I don't understand your dislike for the place. You do realize GR is the conservative hub of Michigan, right? West Michigan is also a big aviation hub with Kalamazoo Tech's aviation school, the DeVos' (GOP puppet masters among GOPers in Mich) aviation academy opening and GRR airport becoming better and better every year. Seems like your kind of place, but crappier weather.

And beside, when you're making the MAC football rounds as an official, GR is going to seem downright cosmopolitan.

You obviously know nothing about Grand Crapids (first time I've heard that, funny, I'll give you credit). Flint, Saginaw, Gary, Newark, East St. Louis, the entire state of Florida, now THOSE are true buttholes of the earth.

Grand Rapids......Big Rapids.....HUGE FUCKING RAPIDS.......ok, we get it! Still the entire state of Michigan is a cesspool, plus Detroit is there, the single most shitty place on the planet. Did you see that Anthony Bourdain documentary on Detroit? Worse than Beirut.

First off, I love the cold. Give me below zero any time over 100 plus. I think I was the only one at the Nats game not wearing a coat.

I had no idea GR was the conservative hub of Michigan, but that wouldn't have changed my thoughts.

My thoughts on the place are colored by hockey. I haven't ever been at the controls of a flight into GRR so can't judge that. GR just wasn't high on the list of places we visited. Granted it was well above Peoria, Lowell, Utica, Hamilton and Binghampton, but then again so are most of the worlds cities.

I fully understand that my view is based on a 4 square block view, but then again that is all I have to judge it by. Next time I am there I will reach out for a little local knowledge and see if one of y'all wants to guide us around the rink/Amway Grand area. Hell, my opinion of Cleveland went up after 88 showed me a great sando place and a downtown bar you pass right on bye without the local info.

You're bad-mouthing God's waiting room? Actually the worst thing happening down here (Lee County) now is that construction is starting up on more homes and businesses for the next influx of retiring baby boomers.

Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure that Founder's, Bell's, Dark Horse and New Belgium are all coming to Madison. I have a nice little key ring/bottle opener from Dark Horse.

New Belgium is from Colorado, not Michigan.

If you like IPA's, Dark Horse's Crooked Tree is very tasty. Founders isn't bad, especially their Breakfast Stout, and I'm not a huge stout fan. Check out if you get anything from Short's. They have some weird beers (one I tried was a cheesecake beer), but their Huma Luma is pretty good.

If you like Bourbon, see if you can get your hands on some New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon. It's brewed in caskets that have been used to make one of their flagship beers, Dragon's Milk. The wife picked some up a few months back and it had a different taste, in a good way.

Belle's is good, but I think everyone who is gaga over Oberon is a prole. Their Two Hearted Ale is my go to IPA for the summer. I fear they are going to go the way of New Belgium instead of Dogfish Head. New Belgium rushed to mass produce and the quality has gone down. Dogfish Head it seems has taken their time and their product hasn't suffered.

My bad on the New Belgium. Sorry I sullied Michigan’s craft beer rep in such a manner.

I have tried a number of Dogfish Head’s IPA’s and they are mostly hop-bombs. Not well balanced at all. Two Hearted is good shit.

I assume you meant New Holland.

BTW, if you're ever in town hit up an establishment called Hopcat. Was voted the #1 brewpup on the planet...by people who rate such things. More craft brews on tap than anyone.

You might even run into me. I'll be at the Buffalo Wild Wings across the street drinking a Labatt Blue.

I like the 60 minute. Agree on anything after that. I had a 120 minute at a bar and it tasted like paint thinner.

Word around town is you're a big fan of what you're able to get from shorts. Which is Stroh's spelled backwards, but I digress.
