Not sure why Screwy seems to think that the Russians/Russian separatists are not behind this. The evidence we have seen is getting to be a mountain. Add to that the World Leaders who likely have more evidence who continue to call out Russian separatists, Russia and Putin.
Euro control sets the no fly zones and they must have felt the area MH17 was in was safe. Not sure if someone made a mistake when they routed them North to avoid the weather over the usual southern track, but my guess is someone made a mistake.
