I've been on an alt country kick lately. You wouldn't like it. Just stick to your dust bin acid washed jean jacket rock. We don't all have to like the same things. In fact, it's best that we don't.

Understandable you would feel that way, hitting that close to home and all. Pretty much the way you roll.

Perfect for your T1B tombstone.

There's a lot more going on there but you don't have the attention span to pick up on it.
I'm sure you're a tremendous judge of comedy though. You've made me laugh zero times since January 21, 2005.
Even if this were true it still begs the question, why did you get to have an opinion about guitar players when you can't play a guitar? We're you really this stupid when I drug you across the smack off title line in first place?

I'm giving 'Spray a little credit here. His tastes are a bit more eclectic than you'd think.

Back to the OT, I had the chance to see Williams in person in Kandahar for the Joint Chief of Staff's Christmas USO show. Beside the fact that every last one of the comedians told jokes that had the very troops they were entertaining as the butt of the joke, Williams' routine was the most blatant of the bunch for poking fun of the men for doing what they were doing. Mind you, people (contractors) like me were there because we chose to be, but for the soldier or Marine on the ground they had no choice but to do the job in a place they undoubtedly would not purposefully go, particularly at that time of the year. I appreciate that he and all the others took the time to come out and entertain the troops, but the content of his shtick was just terrible. Bob Hope he ain't-- or wasn't.
By contrast, the Sergeant Major of the Army's USO show was outstanding in every way: supportive, festive, funny, warm, and personal. It was everything that the JCS' show was not and Robin William's show was part and parcel of that.
As for his body of work, it seems to me that you either like Williams or you don't. I found him to be repetitive and annoying-- even his last show "The Crazy Ones" was just a long riff on stuff he'd done his entire career: Robin Williams being Mork. The fluttering hands, the chipmunk on crack, bouncing from one topic to another with no segue, impressions of impressions of even more impressions he'd done thousands of times in the past. Even "Good Will Hunting" had him doing just a subdued version of his regular routine where he bites his lower lip, wears that hang dog look, and doles out little pieces of life advice as if they were morsels to be savored.
Maybe I'm being too hard on the guy when all he was was a comedian just making bank for doing the same thing over and over again, but it got really old decades ago for me-- right around the time Orson called him back to Ork.

He was too brilliant to be bottled into a role with confines he had to stay within.
A film role didn't necessarily fit his skill set.
Personally I think that's where he was at his best with a good director to keep him on a short leash.

I don't care what kind of music it is - as long as it's done well with at least a little fucking talent, I have no problem with it.
I played with a country band. I was an emergency fill in. I played with a borrowed axe and played a 90 minute set of songs that I did not know. The bass player shouted out the chord changes to me when he could and I followed him the rest of the time. It probably didn't help that I was high as a bitch because I had smoked up before I got to the club because I was just going to watch this girl I was planning to fuck play drums. Watching people line dance while you play is fucking weird.

I "get" to have an opinion on all kinds of things, we all do, you shit-brained simpleton.
I have an acoustic guitar that I play from time to time, not particularly well. I don't know why that should preclude me from having takes on music. It's still an art form and it's still subjective.
We're you really this stupid

You said I have never made you laugh so my opinion about comedy is shit. So by your own reasoning, (if one can call it that) since you suck at music, so does your opinion about it. Of course that is stupid, but then so are you.

I see you are too stupid or too yellow to comment on the second sentence and would prefer to act like a smug little fuck by only commenting on part of the post. Your third grade tactics are noted.

Serious question -- do you even know what a comma is for? Why do you even bother with periods at this point?

That golf gig was about the most unfunny thing I have seen him do. Don't really care for him in scripted stand-up. I think he is good at improv and in his more serious acting gigs. His gay, but not too gay, Armand Goldman in the bird cage was nails. That was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

Bump--
The death of Robin Williams, who hung himself in August, was allegedly triggered by Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), TMZ reports.
According to documents obtained by the website and sources close to the actor's family, Williams struggled with the disease, which is the second most common type of progressive dementia after Alzheimer's. In LBD, protein deposits develop in nerve cells in the brain, causing visual hallucinations, fluctuations in alertness and result in rigid muscles and tremors, much like in Parkinson's disease, which Williams' wife, Susan, revealed he was recently diagnosed with after his death.
Susan reportedly told authorities that Williams had been complaining about the medications he was on to treat the disease. According to TMZ's sources, LBD was the "key factor" in his suicide and that his doctor's agree.
Williams' family revealed after his death that he had been suffering from anxiety and depression as well.
This disclosure from the family, in combination with reports that he was free of any drug or alcohol toxicity, should lay to rest (so to speak) some of the more callous and misinformed statements that were associated with Robin Williams suicide, at least hopefully.
