Papa Willie wrote:I'd say Texas Tech & Arkansas are both about slightly better than the worst teams in the Big 12 & SEC respectively. Arkie went there and smoked them yesterday.
I expected as much. Tech runs a 3-4, poorly with undersized middle linebackers. Arkansas has the second largest line in the country. It was just a matter of time. I was surprised it wasn't uglier earlier.
Texas Tech is bad this year. Tech isn't slightly better than anybody other than Kansas. If they play Iowa State in Ames then I'm leaning toward ISU in that match up. Texas is bad enough that they're a toss up game.
If tech plays lights out in all its toss up games I still only think they're ceiling is 6th in the conference.
Kansas and Vandy should play on New Years day in the BCS toilet bowl. They are literally the worst two teams in any P5 conference, by far.

Yeah, 6-1 OOC is pretty good, isn't it?

Oregon only beating Wyoming 48-14 is a loss in their book.
Washington beats Illinois. Oh - tough!
Stanford beats Army.
Washington State beats Portland State.
USC beat by BC.
UCLA barely squeaks out a win against a fucking AWFUL Texas team.
ASU only 14 over Colorado?
AZ only 7 over Nevada?
I'm not seeing any good teams that the Pac 12 played. How much SEC'ing can they do in one weekend?
Oregon had the practice squad in for the entire second half (and watch out, Sparty -- Wyoming plays good D for a team of that level).
I'm surprised UDub won, since they're a bad 3-0 team.
Stanford killed Army, start to finish.
Wazzu finally found a team they could beat. Had to dig into FCS to do it, and it might be their only win this season. Leach is a train wreck.
USC are what we thought they were -- very, very good... for a starting 22. After that, way too thin.
UCLA, like their opponent, lost their starting QB, and won a road game (see SECBSH, a "road game" is where a team... never mind, it's complicated) in a tough place to win.
ASU... got a win against a crappy opponent, but they went to high elevation to do it (I'd try to explain that to SECBSH, but it's irrelevant, since they'll never leave the flatlands).
AZ... won. Nevada is tougher than usual, since they have one of the best players in the country (Brock Hekking).
So, in conclusion -- USC lost by 6. Sounds like a good OOC weekend for the PAC.

Anybody who has actually seen UCLA play football this year knows they are overrated as fukk. And their offense was a tire fire before Hundley got hurt, so that dog won't hunt.
All the conferences pretty much suck, some a little more so than others (sup Big Ten). There are merely a smattering of good individual teams.

small point, but technically speaking UCLA beating Texas wasn't a "road win". Wasn't in Austin. In fact, UT wore their road white unis and UCLA home blues. Certainly a UT favoring crowd at JerryWorld but more corporate shmooze crowd than on-campus. BYU, on the other hand, boat-raced UT at DKR.
Also, fwiw, UGA played Colorado in Boulder a few years ago. in one of the last Hawkins seasons.
minor points. jus sayin.

Sparty would be lucky to score 3 on fUCLA.
Their offense is pretty lackluster, to be sure, but they play D.

BTW -- Wyoming actually plays some D. Sparty will roll them, but their D is pretty deece for a less-than-mid-major.

So, the Transitive Property of CFB is alive and well?
Actually, I'm sure everybody noticed how there was a lot of that type shit going on this weekend. Just a fucking strange, strange weekend.
I think it had to do with some hard fought battles last week (whether they should have been or not). Lots of "letdown weeks" going on, but most survived(not USC), some just barely.

Can you imagine being in Manhattan, Kansas on Thursday night after the football game?
I've been to Auburn for numerous things over the years. It isn't any livelier than Manhatten.

Nope. It's not going to blow my mind if the Wildcats win - though they shouldn't...

How are we going to get our automatic 4 (cupcake) wins ? "

Snyder's guys will come out and play hard....execute, won't beat themselves with dumb mistakes, make some plays but this doesn't feel like a game KSU wins to me. this is hardly a vintage Snyder team.
And Darth Snyder isn't a rah rah guy. he's not like fans. he'd rather beat W. Illinois by 50 and see what he wants to see than hype his team up for a big upset. As we've mentioned, HE probably doesn't even want to play this game. circling a game on the calendar ain't his style. unless maybe it was Nebraska 15 years ago.
you never know but i think Auburn wins this one after KSU hangs around for a bit.

Yeah, normally I'd say, beware the Thursday night home dog, but I think Auburn handles KSU pretty easily. KSU's d looked pretty suspect against...Iowa State...and I don't think they have the offense to get into a shootout with Auburn. Hope I'm wrong.

Falcons tore the Bucs a new one. Did anyone else play?
I thought I heard something abut the best team from the best conference in the country going to a scrub in another conference's house? Anyone know how that went? Must have been a massacre . . .

KSU stuffed the Tigers running game. That gave them a chance, but the Wildcats blew too many scoring opps. Auburn looked awful.
Kansas State lost the game, Allbarn didn't win it.
On a side note. I think the youngest Locket brother is currently a senior finally . . . his oldest brother's son is already a freshman receiver starting at some school in Tulsa I believe . . . another fucking WR. Kansas State is never going to run out of those fuckers. I think they've had at least one of the Lockets on their team 3/4 of their seasons for the last quarter a century. Some years they've had two. FUCK.

Did Auburn join the big 12? What does you beating them do to effect the conference table?
Rival, KState is a rival? Don't both of the teams need to be competitive in the series for it to be a rivalry?
Oh, I forgot, Auburn is aggie so you're using the stepchild definition like other aggies. Any professional school that owns your ass and you dream of being is a rival. Under that criteria I guess KState would consider us a rival. Us, not so much. We only even just recently started getting the speed bump back on schedule every year again.
