Genesis 1:6-8, 14-18 says there is a firmament over the earth, and the stars are within the firmament.

My brother in law spends way too much time on the internet and believes most conspiracy theories, and totally buys into the religious stuff too. I've never heard him tout the earth is flat nonsense...Yet. I'm sure it will happen since he's already an idiot.

I personally know many science teachers. One, who is in a choir and believes in Christ/religion, once explained the Big Bang theory to me in a totally believable way. The rest of science peeps I know either believe both science and the bible equally or think the bible is bogus and science is correct. There is nothing wrong with both of those, but in my mind, there is something very wrong with only believing in the bible and discounting science as nothing. Come on people, get real.

God said there are ends of the earth, not sides of the earth, which would have been correct if the earth was a ball.
He spoke in terms of the earth being flat.

There are many other such verses in the Bible.

As I have tried to make clear, the Word firmament used over and over in Genesis 1 is raqiya in the original Hebrew.

For verification that it means a literal, tangible, physical cover or dome, see how Ezekiel uses it (raqiya) five times -- and each time it means a literal, tangible, physical cover or dome.

Read Ezekiel 1:22-26 and Ezekiel 10:1.


There is a literal cover over the earth, and within it God has placed the sun, moon and stars.
And above the cover is water.

As in Genesis, fiirmament (raqiya) is used multiple times there -- and it is a tangible physical covering.

Tent, done, curtain -- what it certainly can not be understood as, is a vast open space, billions of light years big.

Of all the Scripture you have decided to post 'tart, this is by far the most curious. So then, which specific waters are being divided from the other waters? Is this a reference to the water contained in the sky within clouds from the land based waters of the sea and other bodies? How and why is this firmament dividing them?

As well, how is this relevant to your position on your "belief" in a flat Earth? I understand you have repeatedly said you "don't know" what the shape the Earth is, but you are at least suggesting it is "not round".
