Huh. Makes me wonder how effective a four man crew will or could be in cleaning up the poo of thousands of vagrants. But for someone who has few other options in a city whose cost of living is exorbitant, $185k along with overtime is going to be a pretty good gig, although not anywhere near enough to live near your work. I can only imagine that teachers might be a bit jealous of that salary.

I wonder what benefits $100,000 gets you? Insurance, even using the wildly expensive Obamacare (with its attendant lousy coverage), will likely cost $12,000 to $18,000 a year. 5% to an enforced 401k or CalPers pension is $3,500. Union dues probably cost 2% or $1,400.
