To her credit she looks good in a dress. Now if only she could learn to stay in the kitchen where she belongs.

I was looking for specifics, but you are a mouth breathing moron so that, apparently, was too much to ask.

Yeah, that’d describe me. But really, don’t you hope that her cooking in the kitchen is better than her cooking of the books when it comes to the economy? Her recipe for success is, “Just pay for it!” when asked how we the taxpayers can afford to foot the bill for a $32 trillion expense to cover Medicare-for-all. It’s the very essence of wishful thinking. She might as well tell us she is the fairy princess of Unicorn-commieland and all she has to do is wave her magic wand and everything will be free and bright and cheerful and sparkly. The world will then see how socialism is superior to all other forms of government. And doesn’t this dress just look divine on me?

Put her and the rest of the socialists in charge and there’ll be a grease fire in that kitchen that’ll burn the whole house down.

Allow me to illustrate her approach to economics. Picture her up on stage in a beauty contest being questioned by a reporter who desperately wants her to succeed and tosses her a gentle and easy question about how she plans to pay for these wonderful things. There it is, the question is all teed up and ready to be belted out of the park by this really hip and cool socialist— who looks fabulous in a dress, by the way. All she has to do is explain in simple, easy to understand sentences how the numbers get crunched and why our nation has been so... retrograde in covering rising medical costs. She’s an economics major from an Ivy league school, so she’s got this right?

Let’s cut to the tape and see how she responds.

Well, I could drone on about how she has no clue as to the history and present state of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict— although I suspect that wouldn’t convince you of anything. Or I could tell you she utterly misunderstands the basic nature of National Parks and how they are not shining examples of democratic socialism in action— but that’s unlikely to convince you. Perhaps her concept and knowledge of the unemployment rate is tied to how many jobs one holds? No? That doesn’t affect your perception of her economic acumen? How about her stated claim that ICE is required to fill 34,000 beds each night to fill some quota imposed on it for budgetary reasons? She also thinks that Congress mandated a $700 billion increase in funds to pay for nuclear bombs and fighter jets that the military didn’t ask for. Apparently, she uses the same math for her Medicare-for-all plan to calculate her Pentagon budget.

Well, the ace of spades in this discussion is the one irrefutable fact that she is a socialist. If that doesn’t prove her idiocy to you, then nothing will and I can’t help you with that. Being dumb is no way to go through life, Mikey, and I’d hope based on reading your posts for ages now that you aren’t getting on the socialism bandwagon. It’d be like getting a tattoo in this day and age— so conformist and lemming-like. And stupid.

No kidding. The Democrats had no say - absolute zero - in setting the agenda, calling witnesses, or any other function of the House Intelligence Committee under Devin Nunes, and no investigative authority.
Period. Full Stop.

Maybe LS was being sarcastic, otherwise he's really got his head up his ass.
So because the racist liberals couldn't set the agenda or call witnesses or have a Congressional investigation, it means they didn't/haven't spent time and money investigating the Donald and his actions? Come on you aren't this dense. And now that they can set the agenda and call witness, what is going to drop in early January? What have they been sitting on waiting to take back the House?

Exactly. And she has gotten by on her (unconventional) good looks, the hipness of being a socialist, and having a good figure in a tight dress. Go beyond that and she’s a run-of-the-mill Millennial: shallow, feel-y, and earnest at the expense of intelligence and common sense.

I can only attribute her degree being given by an Ivy league school (which in generations past meant it was earned with hard work and a sharp mind) because an Economics major now has a sub-minor cirriculum that includes gender studies, the history of militant feminism, and lab work in community organizing. Seriously, how she graduated in that field of study is a mystery to me.

My suspicions are that this points directly to the rapidly decreasing quality of higher education, particularly our vaunted Ivy League schools.

Here in New York the State Senate was flipped blue for the first time in over 60 years. What can you expect from this? My guess is that a legal recreational marijuana law will be passed this coming year, voting reforms including same-day registration or automatic registration along with early voting. And I think you'll see an attempt at medicare-for-all in New York state.

What would be really interesting would be if New York and California could work together with other blue states to create a multi-state medicare-for-all consortium. That would seriously lower the cost of doing business in New York and other blue states.

I would be very surprised if Dems did not hold the majority through the next redistricting. They will all have Trump to campaign against next time and turn out numbers will be even higher.

Two things -- I'm pretty sure there's that Article One, Section 10 thingy to deal with.

And if "health care" was allowed to be sold across state lines, it would seriously lower the cost of doing business in every state.

I do have a couple/few takeaways from this election.

1. The Democrats should NOT elect Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. Get a fresh centrist face in the postion and start working across the aisle to get things accomplished.

2. The Democrats in the House should not start a new investigation of Trump. Let Mueller wrap up his investigation, and proceed with those results.

3. Not likely that the ACA is going to be dismantled with the House in Dem control. Both sides should work together to improve it. Especially since the premiums appear to be stabilizing.

4. I see no reason to pursue impeachment. Trump should, however, be indicted under the Emoluments Clause.

"Mexican/Honduran" is now a race, not nationalities. "Muslim" is now a race, rather than a religion. "Xenophobe," which means "intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries," now applies to a guy who married multiple foreigners.

Indeed, it's OK to makeup new definitions for words these days, and as long as you think it's a sick burn, it doesn't matter if it makes sense or not.

Demonize those you disagree with, at all costs (particularly at the expense of the American English language).

You are far smarter than she is. Yes those numbers help explain her claim, but what she doesn't understand is that it is closer to 40% of wage earners earn less than $20k. A good portion of the population isn't earning a wage.
