Mexico is full of good people. It is generally quite safe if you know what you are doing. It is no less safe than many of our largest cities.
What is sad is how some here want to legalize the hard drugs that have brought Mexico to where they are today. It is crazy to expect that if hard drugs are suddenly legalized all of the issues in Mexico go away. In fact we can expect this sort of violence to find its way to the US if we were to make hard drugs illegal. These cartels aren’t just going to say, aww shucks the Gringos can get it legally now so we will shut down our operations.
