I just feel strongly that if you drink or do drugs, you can never use it as an excuse to victimize another human being.
In other words, if you're willing to get fucked up to escape reality,
You still must take responsibility for whatever happens.

And I feel just as strongly that getting blackout drunk in order to absolve one's self from responsibility of what happens to you is also not an excuse. The law disagrees, but there it is.
In some places, people get drunk specifically to remove any responsibility for incest, assault, group sex and/or pederasty. Yeah, such and such woke up with a bruised pelvis and neck and covered in semen. Unfortunately, the family members who did it shared the same bucket of alcohol as the victim, and no one remembers anything -- one of the uncle's is still passed out.
Next week, tomorrow, tonight, the victim will get passed out drunk again with the same people. And not remember fucking the 12 year old cousin drinking from the same bucket as everyone else.
In other places, no one was black out drunk until the cell phone pictures came out, and the guy you were bragging about fucking isn't in those photos.
Don't get drunk. Follow the buddy system. Don't lie about being blackout drunk.
