Kirby Puckett retired from baseball because he was starting to have a vision problem, he could have opted for laser eye surgery to improve his vision but felt that would be cheating. Kirby was raised better than Tiger
Or perhaps Kirby retired because he learned he'd still be fucked in night games.

Dozens of MLB players have had LASIK. They’ve also had knee surgery, shoulder surgery, arm surgery, etc. Bo Jackson had a hip replacement. Is it cheating for a pitcher to get “Tommy John” surgery?
