Nah that wasn’t us. We had a whole lot of wine on the river cruise but didn’t go up the tower and made it back to our hotel relatively unscathed.

That used to be an area that was managed reasonably well as it was not forfeited to the public sector union thugs, but lately, yes, even the military has been run into the ground.

I also wonder if a successful national railway system in the US might be considered competition by certain large privately owned concerns. Off the top of my head I can think of maybe oil companies, automakers, tire companies, airlines, and other, privately owned, railroads. But I’m sure that none of them would exert any influence against a successful national railway system.
Certainly there are vested interests who stick their cocks into Amtrak.

It would it work any better if they didn’t?

I work pretty closely with TSA and it is security kabuki theater. This isnt because of outside sabotage. It’s just how the feds roll.

Why do the Euros do so much better?

I think it’s for reasons I’ve already given. Basically, they have no choice but to make it work.

We, due to our size and our wealth have other options.

“Unions are what’s wrong with the military.”
You are dumber than a box of mismatched bolts.

Here’s something for 88. Tonight’s dinner, the tasting menu at Le Christine.

Small plates but they add up to a substantial meal. And each came with a different wine pairing and some pretty awesome bread. Unfortunately I can’t remember all the ingredients.

Bread with turmeric butter - champagne of pinot noir
Peas with something and something (I had already taken a bite before the picture) - white wine
Tomato with gelato and zucchini gravlax - white Rhône blend
Halibut with zucchini and lemon saffron butter - another white
Veal loin with carrots, tomato foam and veal sauce - Red Rhône Syrah, Grenache
Some kind of cake with raspberries, raspberry coulis and pineapple sorbet, fennel - rose from Provence
Raspberry Madeline with mascarpone
Cafe americano

Just not better options. You are the Mariana Trench of stupidity.

You really have no idea how these things work, do you?
Do you know why Los Angeles has a shitty public transit system, in spite of spending billions in the past few decades? They had a great system before WWII and it’s not because it was poorly run.

Schwing. Damn, each one of those looked killer. The coffee included. I have never had coffee in America that tasted as good as the coffee in Europe.

Yes the coffee “looked” good. What a galoof.
