Mikey's ignorance about the Ukraine conflict is surprising.
Diego doesn't believe all lives matter, and he loves Nazis as long as they're in Ukraine.
These are good to know.

Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
We wouldn't "give" him anything. He's already taken it and there is jack shit that Ukraine can do about it. Any negotiations will need to acknowledge reality. Russia has Crimea and the Donbas and they aren't going to give that up. It would take a major NATO operation to force them out and I think we know that isn't going to happen. I understand that acknowledging reality isn't something that libtards do particularly well, but the Stiff Dick of Reality doesn't give a fuck about your acknowledgement.
So...what's the play?

Support Ukraine.
Or Hong Kong will be next. And whatever else Putin wants.
$0.02

Apparently you didn't read my post very carefully. There's nothing there for us to "give." The choice to keep fighting Putin belongs to the Ukrainian people, not to "us." The choice we have is whether or not to support them, at at what level.

Fuck around and find out. Just sayin.
There is absolutely no reason why the US is in Ukraine, aside from oil and gas and the weapons sales required to secure it.
The U.S. made a deal with Russia to not expand NATO one inch closer to Russia, and then broke that deal repeatedly. We aren't wearing the white hat in that war. There are no white hats to be worn in that war, aside from the Red Cross workers who haul the dead away to make room for more.

Ukraine is not a significant producer or exporter of either oil or natural gas, and essentially none to the US. They also are not part of NATO. They asked to join only after Russia illegally invaded them twice, in 2014 and 2022.88BuckeyeGrad wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:11 pm https://theins.ru/en/news/276481

The deal not to expand NATO was with the USSR, not with Russia. How many such "deals" has Putin reneged on?
Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
The decision to keep fighting is ours to make because, if we pull the plug, they'll be fighting with rocks.
It would be a good idea to talk terms while you have a country left.

Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
That would mean squaring off with NATO and they would get their heads kicked in before they could fart. The Russians and the erstwhile Soviet Union are the enemy our armed forces were built to fight. They're barely holding their own in Ukraine.

Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
We are not talking about exporting oil or natural gas to the U.S. We are talking about supplying Europe (and cutting off Europe's dependence on Russia imports).
Ukraine's oil and gas reserves are massive, and happen to be located where Russia attacking Ukraine:
https://hir.harvard.edu/ukraine-energy-reserves/
U.S. energy companies want their hands on that oil and gas. That is why we are feeding Ukraine's kids into the meat grinder. This is an oil war.Excluding Russia’s gas reserves in Asia, Ukraine today holds the second biggest known gas reserves in Europe. As of late 2019, known Ukrainian reserves amounted to 1.09 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, second only to Norway’s known resources of 1.53 trillion cubic meters. Yet, these enormous reserves of energy remain largely untapped.
Regarding NATO, I don't understand why we are pushing so hard toward Russia (other than we get to sell arms to the new member countries):

Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
They "asked" to be part of NATO in 2014 after Obama initiated a CIA-led coup to install a NATO-friendly regime which ultimately gave us that cross-dressing grifter in charge now. THAT was when your war started. Putin doesn't want NATO missiles at his doorstep, pure and simple. If China and Russia had there own version of NATO and decided to install missiles in Tijuana with Mexico's blessing, you bet your ass we'd be invading. And Russia doesn't want to annex or takeover Ukraine for the same reason we wouldn't want to take over Mexico: Both are corrupt to the core shitholes that would be more trouble than it's worth.
Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
That's a bunch of bullshit. NATO has been on Russia's border for 20 years. This is a Russian smash and grab. Nothing more or less.
Lot people here need to spit Putin's dick out and wake the fuck up.

Did we also provoke Russia's attack on Georgia in 2008? He then ran the exact same play in Donbas and Crimea, you Putin puffing dipshit. Pull your head out of your ass. His program has jack shit to do with us except insofar as we can jam a stick in his spokes.88BuckeyeGrad wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 1:27 pmTremendous response.

Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
Total bullshit, so I’m told.
Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
Well, yes.
I remember a thread on it at the time when you admitted to it. Surrounding Russia with puppet governments and turning their nations into dumping grounds for armaments for use against Russia was conceived during the Bush administration as a strategy and has spanned multiple governments. It's a bureaucratic conception. 'Obtuse' doesn't suit you.
An abstract game of geo-political pole-positioning would better describe the situation, rather than 'Putin is a madman!!' I thought Roux was the only one here who lived in a Norman Rockwell painting.
Re: Why is Biden Escalating the Ukraine War?
Georgia wasn't a "puppet" government. Russia created a breakaway province (South Ossetia) and then claimed the Georgian government was slaughtering this minority Russian population and invaded.
Starting to sound familiar? Fast forward to the Donbas in Ukraine. Same play. Also the same play Nazi Germany ran in the Sudetenland and Poland.
