I think the Michigan game made up for this, don't you?
Its a start. Michigan and USC were definitely the biggest games on the ND schedule. With all the comparisons to Rockne, I'd avoid planes if I were Weis.
And speaking of new coaches who were supposed to be the bomb diggity, how'd that season opener against West Virginia treat Robinson? Maybe now SU fan will finally stop drinking the Kool-Aid and realize that Pasqualoni wasn't the only problem that program has. Then again, maybe not.
The biggest problem Syracuse has is playing in Maize and Gold this year. When one of the best RBs in the country grows up 30 miles from your campus and spurns you like a social disease....

That being said, I will never understand coaches like Robinson who walk into a new environment and expect players to adapt to their system. Robinson is surrounded by players who were recruited to run the option. Why not use that talent as best if can be until he is able to get the guys who can actualy run his offense?
I suppose I should come correct and point out the fact that in his second game, Robinson managed to shut out that glorified 1-AA program down the Thruway. Props, I guess.
Nobody said it would be easy. If Syracuse makes the Weedeater Bowl it would be a good year.

Actually he was referring to West Virginia's unis, which are blue and gold.

I think BSmack got the maize confused because Michigan's unis, which look kind of similar to West Virginia's, are maize and blue.

I think he was reffering to Mike Hart, who chose to go to UofM over home town Syracuse. He then put together a uniform that would make the Astros of the '80's look like fashion plates.

You got me. I'm not good with colors. Its one of those hetero things eh. ;)

Anyway, Hart was the guy I was refering to. He's one of a few blue chippers from this area who have turned their nose up at SU. They need to become a presense in western NY to the point where recruiting in this area is a no brainer or they can forget about competing for titles anytime soon.

Fortunately for 'cuse they are in the best place possible to make a positive move, the Big East, a BCS-conference with only one team really worth noting, 'ville. I think UCONN will be the team to eventually take this opportunity to rise to prominence but it could be 'cuse if they get it together.

Yeah, you're right, I'd forgotten about Hart. There's also a running back from Crapchester starting for West Virginia, but I forgot his name.

Also, Greg Paulus, although he spurned everybody for football, and decided to play basketball at Duke. From what I understand, if he had chosen football, ND was ahead of Syracuse, but who knows what would have happened.

Actually, Bri, ND has, at least in the past, recruited pretty well in this area, between Corny Southall and Dorsey Levens.
