Most of the best closers do suck in non save stituations. Weird.helmet wrote:Izzy in non-save situations is a fucking nightmare. Might as well have sent Burger King out there.

Our uniforms aren't bad. I don't mind them. They could be better. The cards uni's are worse. The red is ugly and the birds on a baseball uniform just don't do it for me. Not your fault your named after a bird. You know what uniforms I can't stop staring at? The Asstros. They are esay on the eyes. So easy. The color of red is spectacular. Beautiful. It's not burgandy, it's not red. I love it.
So Bace, who do you want for your team in the next series?

^^^I did laugh.
Congrats to the Cards. And rack ESPN for hiding all 3 games well enough as not to embarrass my team any further.
Last week when I heard Boch was putting Woody Williams in game 3, I said, we don't stand a chance. (Like we did before. :) ) . Last night I said, I'm not going to watch us lose. So I turned on Legally Blond on TNT. I couldn't help myself, so I peaked a few times. Woody, 'sho enough gives up 5 runs the first couple innings.
What an embarrassment. I'm not real happy with how the Padres managed their gift of a post season. I'm still pissed about the choice in starting pitcher last night.
I'm gonna kick back now and watch the rest of your teams play now.
Good luck. I'm probably going to be rooting against the Cards.

Rack the Cards for sweeping the Padres out in 3 games. No offence to Padres fan but teams that finish with a record barely over the .500 level don't deserve to be in the playoffs.
Combine it with the White Sox knocking off the Red Sox and so far... this has been a great playoffs.
Ain't that right PointsX?

I know that division winners get in but I'd like to see them set it so that if a divisional winner finishes with a record less than that of a team in another division that wasn't the wild card, they forfeit their spot to the team with the best overall record not already in.trev wrote:No offense taken, Otis. But what do you mean they shouldn't be in the playoffs? It just happened to be a year when their division did worse. What do you propose happen instead? :?
That way, the top teams really do make the playoffs and those teams that had a great year but are stuck in a division that is loaded, have a shot at it as well.
Admittedly, the Pads were not a very strong winner and, in some peoples' eyes not deserving. But what you're suggesting here is ridiculous. Why not just go back to one NL and one AL? Then you can be assured that only the most deserving teams get to the WS.Otis wrote:I know that division winners get in but I'd like to see them set it so that if a divisional winner finishes with a record less than that of a team in another division that wasn't the wild card, they forfeit their spot to the team with the best overall record not already in.trev wrote:No offense taken, Otis.
