Wisconsin may not be able to refinance $165 million in debt as planned in the municipal bond market this week or next,
What part of that are you struggling to comprehend?

Sorry, I forgot that you are a public sector flunky with absolutely no training, knowledge or experience dealing with real world finance.

When you have to borrow money with a bond issue to cover a current deficit. You are broke. If you do not cut spending the 165 million dollar bond issue this week will be a 250 million dollar issue later this year and billions piled on billions in years to come. This is not an opinion. It is an immutable fact. It has been happening to states all across the country. It's much easier to break the debt cycle when you're only 165 million in the hole.

You were right, Marty. "Third Way" is the correct answer.

Revolution, my brother.

You don't debate these fucks. You dig in your heels, man the barricades and occupy the factories.
They'll let you flap your gums until you're blue in the face and then they'll flip you over and empty your pockets.

There is no pleasant discourse with oppressors. You punch them in the face.

Don't even, idiot.

Whether the quotation marks are okay by me or not is irrelevant.

Where they're not okay is with the language in which you are attempting to write.

This has nothing to do with me, as badly as you want to deflect your ignorance here (and BTW-the IKYABWAI was immediately noted -- you should probably leave that shit to the professionals in KC). Nope, it's all on YOU, and you alone (OK, and your bygone elementary teachers).

YOU claimed to be a teacher. YOU immediately demonstrated an inability to use the language properly.

And YOU are a large part of the Problem With America -- you're so fucking arrogant, you actually think you're qualified to teach in public schools (even though you couldn't pass a basic usage test in American English), and somehow think public employees are underpaid.

I didn't make you ignorant -- there were probably myriad factors, but I certainly wasn't one of them.

I merely pointed out that you're incompetent as a "teacher," rendering any point you try to make about what the public sector may or may not deserve in compensation as...

well frankly, that's gut-busting hilarious. I can imagine a pack of you tools cuhllektivluh barginin cuz we'z so good at teachun them 2 R's.

First of all, bitter little autobot, I don't work in the public sector. I have a very nice IT job in the private sector. BTW, I passed on a comparable public sector job because the pay wasn't as good. Secondly, Wisconsin, due to their excellent credit rating will be able to get this handled. Feel free to refute any of the other points made in the article instead of trying split hairs on the word "broke".

So I owe $120,000 on my house, and I have $10,000 in the bank. Am I broke?

Of course, unless you have a fully financed buyer under contract for your house at a purchase price greater than $110,000.
Utter bullshit. I have a structured debt. Which is what the state of Wisconsin will wind up with.

goobs, the mortgage comparison to excuse gubmint borrowing is a flawed one. continueing to add to the total debt, year in and year out is like taking ever increasingly large home equity loans out on your home. eventually it blows up in your face.

You are a moron. If you owe $120,000 on anything, and you find that you cannot sell that anything (e.g., bad market conditions) for at least the difference between what you have saved and what you owe, then you are one broke motherfucker.
I have future projected revenue streams that will enable me to pay off my debt, not to mention the fact that I possess significant collateral. Are you suggesting that the state of Wisconsin does not possess the same?

I've managed to handle mortgage payments pretty much my entire adult life. At certain times, I've refinanced. I'm still doing fine, as will the state of Wisconsin. Bitter little autobot.

You're not broke, but at 58 years old, you're paying rent.

No, I don't, but I do know that he said he has been paying on a mortgage for most of his adult life, so I think it's safe to say that he has at least some equity in his home. I also don't know if he actually owes $120K on his house...only that he threw out that number as an example. What he owes on his home is none of my business.
