Ah the classic Left vs Right tax battle.
The Left says 1% of a Billion is more than 1% of a thousand, therefore the outcomes are unequal.
The Right says 1% is 1%. The input is equal.
Both are telling the truth which is why the argument will never resolve.

It all depends on whose ox you want to gore.
I knew we could agree on something. :bonertouch:
It happens on occasion.
TBH, from a selfish standpoint, I hope that they keep the TCJA rates for a few more years. Or even lower them. Once everything is converted to a Roth IRA they can raise them as high as they want. Assuming we still have a country in the next three years.

Who pays tariffs?
And for your further enjoyment the last shipments from China that aren't covered by tariffs should arrive this week. After that you'll be seeing tariff charges added to your bills.

If you chaps need anything, toothbrush, combs, etc - let's make a deal. You don't want to wander around looking like a complete Frankenstein monster.
I'll label it as a 'gift'.
I've had thirty PMs so far, posters are desperate to reach a deal with me. Don't get left out.

Maybe you could pack up a couple servings of poutine and send it this way?

Certainly not for any large purchase. It's a moot conversation in any event. China will cave or collapse. There is no replacement for the US market. We might experience some minor inconvenience, they will have their balls cut off and nailed to their foreheads.
You need to stop being such a fucking pussy and understand how economic leverage actually works. I'm sure you can find your balls somewhere around the house.

Except you are not. Billionaires do not pay income taxes on the vast majority of their wealth. They are billionaires because assets they hold have appreciated in value. But they do not sell those assets and realize taxable income very often.
It’s like Mikey’s casa. It has appreciated, but he isn’t paying income taxes on the appreciated value. But he’s a multi-millionaire because he owns that asset (and others). And good for him.
Libtards want to take accumulated assets from others they deem too wealthy, but don’t want their accumulated assets to be touched, even though their own accumulated assets significantly exceed those of the median.

I'll call bullshite, you don't actually believe any of that but it makes for decent bluster.
You're going up against a command economy, it's specifically designed for this. It can stop on a dime, turn in any direction and it specialises in damage control. A command economy
is a wartime economy. You have nothing, no industrial policy, nothing - just some vague hope 'the invisible hand' will turn up.
The administration don't know what the f*ck they're doing, just the latest example from the past week - the 25% on auto parts got cancelled the day before it was supposed to kick in because Ron Mexico didn't factor in the total collapse of the auto industry.
The tariff policy is dead now, it's just a matter of how much damage it's going to before this is realised. The similarities between this and Perestroika are stark.

^^^ Diego nails it once again!! The consumer pays the tariff!!
Whether it’s a tariff on goods or a minimum wage tariff on people, it works the same! Luckily thinkers like Diego and mvscal are always set in their principles and will call a spade a spade and stick to their guns and not just flip flop because the guy carrying the baton is their hero/villain!
I myself, being a lifelong leftist, absolutely love the artificial tampering of the pricing system. Like when Kamala was discussing price controls on grocery chains, I was absolutely salivating!! I’m just in love with it all, no matter who carries the baton!!
Can I get an “R” for …. no, not you Roaeioux… an “R” for Rent Control!!

I've never seen anything more scatter-shot and absurd than this administration's tariff nonsense.
We are inside of a total disaster, and it will be *painfully* evident as time goes by.
