He is all that. If anyone has seen the 1969 through early 1970's camera work, it's not all that impressive. So to show the history of what happened, NASA Photoshopped better and enhanced pics of the experience that I've witnessed via Walter Cronkite, etc. The photography was okay for the still pics and the ones that were out there when I was a little kid showed those. Think of it as a compilation put together for the current NASA audience.

What Pops doesn't understand is the overall missions on 16mm film and still photos are an overall collection of what I and anyone over 50 years old have seen back in those days if they've paid attention.

Photoshop and micro computers weren't around until decades later. So a logical and SANE person should ask themselves, where did those pics originate? A fool would say all of those were made up after the 1980's and current technology came into effect. I saw all of that and then some on CBS when they were broadcast on live TV. Pops thinks I didn't really see the Sunlight reflecting off the Command Modules starting from around Apollo 14 and later heading straight toward the Moon from our backyard. I witnessed it, so who is Pops to tell me that I didn't?

You can see the ISS flying overhead if you are outside at night if the orbits match up with where you are now. Has Pops ever watched current videos from the ISS?

Bottom line, Pops discounts science, math, and simple observation that the ancients discovered centuries ago. He even admits "some" Christians" are flat Earth believers, and of course literal interpreters when it comes to knowing God's infinite time and his mind. Basically, he is wrong and no matter what, he's going to flail away being wrong until he dies and God tells him he's "flat" out wrong.

Sure, this topic has gone on far too long, but it's fun to watch him expel his futile energies as he defends stupidity.

Why don't you take a GoPro, a balloon, an iPhone or other gps tracking device and send the camera high into the atmosphere? Pretty decent chance it shows you curvature of the earth. Then what ?

Not sure why I posted this because I won't be checking this post, but if you want to discuss then PM me just like the flights around the deep southern hemisphere.
1. From what I hear, some "flat earthers" are sending a balloon up later this month. They are ooking for earth curvature (or not) of course, but also looking for the moon. From what I understand, they are sending the balloon up from America at a time when the moon is supposed to be on the other side of the globe -- about perpendicular to Australia. So if they can see the moon, of course the round earth gang would have some 'splainin' to do. We'll see...

2. I have not forgotten at all about the Southern Hemisphere flights. I have many questions surrounding this issue -- and many things yet to explore. We'll see on this, also...

To see the video, I need you to give some specific keywords that I can use on YouTube directly through that site exclusively. A pain in the backside to be sure, but it's what I'm dealing with.

If you just give me the right keywords, I won't have any problems.

Yeah, that's what I am considering, given poptart's other video links.

Still, I want to give him his due, so he can finally answer my one specific question about NASA and other space agencies conspiracies in covering up flat Earth theory. It ain't much, but as he is rock head stubborn, I'm willing to play this game out, just to see where he goes, especially when proven even more ridiculousy wrong than he already has.

I'm talking about you failing.

Look, if you want to hold a literal view of the Bible, then at least be consistent. I've asked you over 10 to 15 pages ago to equate your literal interpretation of Creation to the imagery used in the Book of Revelations. You've discounted the simile and never gave and explanation of the view of what God "looks like" in Revelations. I've also gave you an explanation of a simile in which God says a Day is like a Thousand years 5 to 10 pages ago. You've dismissed both.

Bottom line, you are not qualified to discuss language usages in the Bible other than the overall message of a forthcoming Savior. You misinterpret math, science, time, etc. to justify your uneducated views of Biblical interpretation to one of a literal view. You are wrong and are the only person on this board, and wherever else you post to hold your unintelligent views.

If it makes you feel better, go ahead and believe One day equals One day. It doesn't change the overall presentation of what God presents through prophets and witnesses in the OT as a foreshadow of a redeemer in Christ and what is fulfilled in the NT. Many don't buy into it because of people like you and the offshoots of the faith.

I'll bet you went to Korea to profess a flat Earth because their faces are flat. Where did Reverend Moon originate? He was a wacko also.

You never asked me a question about the Revelation passage.
You just made a statement.
You said...
AP wrote:Do yourself a favor... go to the book of Revelations and read the language usage. It paints a picture of God that looks like a scary monster. Those are metaphors. When the Earth was created billions upon billions of years ago, it is explained using mental images in which mankind can relate.
Are you talking about Revelation 1:14-16?

You choose to dismiss the literal six days, because it does not seem right to you, but for the record, you have no answer for how the earth supposedly stood alone, with vegetation and oceans for ??millions?? of years in your correct interpretation of the six days of creation.

Let's be clear about that.

God could not have been more direct in telling you how He created everything.
He gave us NO confusion on the issue AT ALL.

AP wrote:it (six day creation) is explained using mental images in which mankind can relate. You are using God's explanations to primitive man to explain how things really are
Moses was a helluva lot smarter than you, I can promise you that -- and he relayed God's Word in a clear and direct way for us.
It's YOU who are trying to butcher it and be the smart guy.

And at any rate, Genesis was written for US, NOW, just as much as it was written for people in the past.

Are we primitive men?

AP, if you look at Matthew 17:1-9 (v.2 in particular) you see how the transfigured Christ appeared to Peter, James, and John.
This was a glimpse at the risen, glorified Christ.

-- his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. --

Revelation 1:14-16 is speaking of Christ in that fully risen and glorified state.
Who am I to say that what John described there is not an accurate literal description?
Part of it was already shown to Peter, James, and John.

That said, my Bible is more than 1,500 pages long.
It's full or metaphors, similes, allegory, etc.
Ezekiel, Psalms, Isaiah... and on and on... use a lot of language like that.
Jesus called us salt (Matthew 5:13).
Are we really salt?

It's an obvious metaphor.

The Bible is a book of literature, and that means I take it literally.

By literally, that means I read it naturally, as I do with any other book of literature.
What is clearly metaphor, simile, allegory, etc., should be taken as such.
What is clearly not, should not be.

Genesis 1 is NOT presented as anything other than a straightforward account of the six days of creation.
And as I noted before, God said this, right in the midst of giving His Ten Commandments...

Exodus 20:11
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

He stated it once in the very first Book of the Bible for us.
He said it AGAIN for us while giving the Ten Commandments.

It could not possibly be more clear.

Everything was created by God in six literal days.

You're wrong.

I'm aware that there are people who are fascinated by and/or supportive of what I've been posting.
They don't need the headache of posting and dealing with a gang of senseless maniacs, so they choose to remain silent and just read.

The misguided and m0ronic vitriol on page-after-page of this thread is pretty fascinating.

There is a good reason why this topic brings out such irrational hatred, though.

kind of funny watching pops defend his untenable position employing the book that is mans answer to the age old question of "why are we here"
I know, it must be that some magical being popped us into existence and made us in his own image.....then put down a bunch of non-sensical rules which he knew man would break because he knows everything that was and everything that's going to be....in breaking the rules, we've doomed ourselves unless we atone for the "sins" of our ancestors....sure, that will work

You took that one verse out of a pretty large post of mine, which contained a lot of information.
You should read the whole Chapter you took that verse out of.
Thessalonians 2 -- talking about when the man of sin comes.

Thessalonians 2:10
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

The Truth is Jesus Christ, Who saves us.

Condemnation does not come because of what someone believes about the shape of the earth.
It comes when one rejects Jesus, Who clearly showed Himself as the Christ.

John 3:18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

One more point for AP (and other Christians) who don't believe in the six days of creation...

Genesis 1:5 - And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis 1:8 - And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Genesis 1:13 - And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Genesis 1:19 - And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Genesis 1:23 - And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Genesis 1:31 - And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Six times within the very first Book of the Bible, God clearly and directly tells us that a day is -----> a day.

Okay 'tart, I actually sat through that thing twice, just to make sure nothing got missed. Aside from being dry as dust, mvscal was 100% right and that is 30 minutes of my time I will never get back.

Point by point. First, there was nothing in that oddly edited interview with Byrd that suggested or mentioned a wall or flat Earth. Oh sure, the narration covered it, but offered no proof whatsoever to back it up. Lots of silly graphics and such, but no visual or recorded evidence of anything, just hyperbole and not much more.

As to the edits, why was so much left out? Is it possible the unedited footage makes Byrd look worse than he already did? He talked a lot about other nations being present, possible resources that could be there, a military presence, but nothing specific, just some hedging and non-sequitors.

Next, if this supposed to represent even a degree of proof of flat Earth evidence, then it is an epic fail. However, it does go a long way in explaining your so-called "thought process".

Now then 'tart, I did as I said and watched the video...twice.

Please return the courtesy and answer my long standing question of the specific reason why NASA, the US and the rest of the Worlds space and government agencies are covering up the existence of a "flat planet", an oxymoron if there is one and what is gained by said cover up?

Who benefits from this and why?

When did I ever say this video (or anything I've posted) proves the earth is flat?

I said that if someone wants to explore the issue, watching this video series would get them to a good starting point for being able to explore the issue further.

I don't know how many more times I need to repeat it -- but I guess I'll have to do it again.

poptart: I don't know for sure what the shape of the earth is.

I definitely do NOT believe the earth model we've been shown is legit, though.
And NASA is completely ridiculous.

Btw, the guy called this series of videos (12 of them) Flat Earth Clues.

Not flat earth proof.

I understand all of that. To this day there are scholars that have differing views of the concept of time as Moses wrote in Genesis. There are those that believe the way you do, and there are those that use the Hebrew word "yom" (day) as a period or even an epoch of time. The thought was in Genesis 2:2 to Exodus 31:15-17 for the work week pattern.

So that lets God accommodate your lack of knowledge to that of someone that can critically think. It really doesn't matter what the time frame is since nobody witnessed creation except the Creator.

With that being said, I see nowhere in the Bible there being a book on astrophysics, etc. What useful purpose would it serve to a sheep herder in the days of Moses? If you want to believe the world is flat, then fine. I will disagree with you in spite of overwhelming evidence that it is indeed a globe. There really isn't anything else to do but laugh at your willful ignorance of science, math, direct observation, etc...

Seriously. I don't disagree with a word of it.

You're following Duncedale's failed playbook.

Those 2 ridiculous "earth" pictures NASA showed us is all I'm basing my NASA takes on?
lol

You're fibbing again, Mr. Felix.

But yes...
NASA showed us laffable earths with laffable North Americas, yes indeed.

You got your head bashed in when you couldn't decide if water was supposed to bend or not in your round earth fantasy.

I'll give mvscal slight credit.
At least he knows what fairy tale he's supposed to cling to.

Not fake science based on one ridiculous premise after the next.

Wait... you're trying to run intelligence smack after claiming that NASA was clicking away on Photoshop in 1969?

Ohhhhhkay. The straws you're grasping at in desperation (and your feigned arrogance isn't veiling it like you think it is) are flatter than you're delusional earth.

While we don't have conclusive evidence of too many concepts discussed here, we do have concrete proof of 2 things:

1, the Bible is flat-out wrong.

2. You're the quintessential example of a fucking moron. Full fucking stop.

You honestly, truly, sincerely need psychiatric help. You've done lost it.

More zany ramblings from Duncedale.

I never claimed NASA used photoshop in 1969.
That pic was from 1972, btw.

All I did was point out the clear reality that NASA has that fake pic up on it's site.

Did you like these?
Also straight off NASA's site.
Which one is the real North America?

You might be an idiot if...

You think either of these laffably different earths are the real earth.

Who benefits from this and why?
I'll answer your questions in two posts, Jay.

A hypothesis: Some of this was spoken of in the video you watched.
Cliff Notes version - Byrd found the edge.
At this point, U.S. leadership decided (easy and predictable for them) to not reveal to the masses that the earth is flat and enclosed.
Such a reality would obvious = Creator.
Leadership finds it a much better option to keep them ignorant of the nature of their surroundings, and their own status as children of the Creator.
Much much easier to keep them docile, stupid and compliant.

So the U.S. -- as the undisputed world leader in the post-WWII world, draws up the Antarctic Treaty, and all of the major nations fall in line and go along with it.
Nobody is going to find out about the edge.
Just a "few" know it.

In 1959, it had been for centuries that the prevailing thought was that the earth was round.
Everyone, worldwide, had been brought up with a globe in their 1st grade classroom and everyone knew that this was home.
There were some who held to flat earth, but it was a tiny minority.
It was a given that the earth was round -- and in the U.S., it was continually reinforced in academics, media, Hollywood, etc.
The case was closed.
People were all deeply entrenched in this thought -- and continual reinforcement only deepened it.

All NASA employees have been brought up with this understanding - from childhood.
There is no need for them to be coerced into deceiving the public about the shape of the earth, because almost all NASA employees think the earth is round.
Almost all NASA employees just do their job within their own department, and they never get a real look at what is happening at the top of the ladder.
Some NASA high-ups have always known the truth - as do high-ups at other world space organizations, and other important world organizations.
Some.

Around this time (Antartctic Treaty), the U.S. and Russia got very aggressive with their shooting of rockets up into space -- testing, or trying to break the firmament, imo.
