The history of not eating red meat on Friday can’t be found in the Bible nor in any of the teaching of Jesus. Instead this practice was added by priests in the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages. I am far more interested in what Jesus said than a 12th Century Catholic preacher.
Further why do you assume Screwy is Catholic?

Delta Air Lines Inc. US:DAL said it’s getting $5.4 billion from the government’s Payroll Support Program for airlines. Part of that will come through a $1.6 billion loan, and the carrier said it “will provide the government with warrants to acquire about 1 percent of Delta stock at $24.39 per share over five years.”
American Airlines Group Inc. US:AAL said it expected to receive $5.81 billion, in a move that would involve a $1.71 billion loan and warrants that would let the government buy 13.7 million shares of common stock at $12.51 per share.

Small Business Loan Funds Running Out With Congress Stalled
The $349 billion program to help small businesses reeling from the Covid-19 outbreak could be exhausted by Thursday, a top White House adviser said, but negotiations in Congress to replenish it remain stalled.
“At the present run-rate, we’re going to be out of money,” Larry Kudlow, President Donald Trump’s chief economic adviser, said Tuesday on Fox Business Network...
Friggin' loans for small business owners can't even be counted on.
And Mr. flag-waving citizen gets (maybe) $1,200 -- while he is told to remain holed up.
While banks are getting UNLIMITED LIQUIDITY -- and large corporations are being nationalized.

It is for both.
The US has seen 20,000 deaths so far from the ‘Rona. Let’s say it reaches 90K, which is an estimate I saw on Friday. That sucks but it really isn’t that different than a bad flu season. Next fall we will shut down the economy again because there is an especially deadly flu outbreak?
The flu thing is dumb as hell.
I'm not surprised it is Lump fans who keep belching it out.
So far (allegedly)...
Coronavirus deaths in 2020 = 20,000
Coronavirus deaths in 2019 = 0
NYC is at a near stand still.
It is a major crisis on multiple levels, ding dong.
20,000?
The flu says,
Until you get to 60,000,
Hold my beer.
And, even if it does manage to get to 60,000.
Over 93% were over the age of 70.
With the flu, (hold my beer).
You get the entire spectrum dying .
Not just the one's who already have one foot in the grave and the other foot on a banana peel.
Hold my motherfuckin' beer.
The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly. Since this disease is caused by a new virus, people do not have immunity to it, and a vaccine may be many months away. Doctors and scientists are working on estimating the mortality rate of COVID-19, but at present, it is thought to be higher than that of most strains of the flu.
Also, your 93% figure, Stanley, like 99% of what you post, is pure, unadulterated bullshit.

Remember my take. By mid summer, the economy is firing on all cylinders. Unemployment is back down to 3.8%.
Everything is open for business.
Cruise ships, Disney, hotels restaurants, movie theaters, retail, etc....etc.....By the time of the first presidential debate in early October, a polished and embattled president trump walks out on that stage in a suit by Ermenegildo Zegna, a tie spun from the beards of endangered exotic goldfish. Walks over to Alzheimer's Joe, who's wearing a JC penny off the rack suit, soiled by urine. And the stark contrast couldn't be any more clear.
Miley cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" is playing as the president takes his place at the presidential podium.

Every single one of them lied about trump for 5 years straight as he came down the escalator to announce his candidacy in 2015.
And now it's come full circle.

For now, I'm gonna say that this was an historic and unprecedented worldwide crisis that needed extreme measures to keep the entire system from total economic collapse.
Which ultimately saves millions upon millions from losing their livelihoods.
What else could we have done?
In my honest opinion, you don't destroy an entire country, putting 100 million people out of work, to save 35,000 lives.
That's not logical.
Even for 50,000 lives.
Otherwise, we'd ban all automobiles due to the 65,000 killed on our roads every year.

Food banks across the country are struggling to keep up with the overwhelming demand for food, as volunteer numbers sharply decline in the face of the coronavirus.
More than 16.8 million Americans have filed for unemployment in the past three weeks alone, bringing national jobless rates up to 13% and leaving families struggling to get food on the table. In turn, food banks are experiencing a massive influx of hungry Americans, gathering in lengthy lines spanning city blocks or waiting in miles-long traffic to collect groceries from drive-through pantries.
Meanwhile, farmers are being forced to dump thousands of gallons of milk and destroy millions of pounds of fresh produce...
When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done.

So there is a shortage of volunteers at food banks and 16.8 millions Americans have filed for unemployment. Sure seems like some of these unemployed should volunteer at the food bank if they are really hungry.

Yeah not sure where that came from, but that is at best a gross misunderstanding of FDR’s speech or exactly what you portray it as. “Unwilling to work” is not what he said. What he said was: “The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;” so yeah society should help but we are not dragging perfectly able people to the finish line. At least not those of us that believe in the Second Bill of Rights.
