Texas had an uneventful signing this year, (no complaints from me) the top two guys in this class are already on campus. They are Kindle and Snead.

Texas pretty much sewed up this class two months ago and it is probably the most underrated class in the top 10. Most of the guys committed early and that usually means they aren't hyped by the recruiting services like the guys that wait to announce. Oh well, the only part of this class that is remotely bad is that we probably needed one more DB but I'm pretty happy with what we got.

For Texas the great news about getting done so early is that Mack and his staff have a lot of time to get a jump on 2k7. They have around 20 ships to offer and the fact that they are the defending champs means they should clean up.

I think he is going to go FSU.

So he's primarily a football player but to get more football players they give him a lacrosse scholarship? If he is scholarshipped and plays football, shouldn't that count as a football scholarship as far as numbers go?

Tom Lemming ranked their class 1-9. UF was ranked 10th.

The junior that SC picked up was Chris Gallipo, a linebacker who has dreamed of playing for USC. He came to ND's junior day, and ND thought they had a very good shot. That was until Poodle offered him and he accepted on the spot. ND never had a shot, they just didn't know it.

As far as Yeatman goes, he is one of the top lacross players in the country. He is also a 3 star tight end. He accepted a lacross scholarship, and will play lacross his freshman year. He will also walk on the football team. He can practice with the team, but as soon as he steps on the field to play in a game, he becomes a football counter.

This was a very good class for ND, and a great building block for next season.

As nutty as this sounds Indy, I believe, if the rules are still the same, that which ever sport you compete in first is what sport your schollie counts against. I know that's how it was explained to me by the few schools that looked into me for wrestling. They all told me I could walk on for the football team as a Sophmore but I had to wrestle a year before so because I would be on athletic scholorship and you have to compete in your schollie sport before you can compete in a sport your not on schoillie for.

Incorrect.

If you participate in football and are on an athletic scholarship, you are a football counter. Period. Has nothing to do with which sport you compete in first.

There are four sports that if you compete in them you are a counter. Hierarchy goes:

Football>Basketball>Hockey>Baseball.

i.e. if you play hockey and baseball, you're a hockey counter. If you play lacrosse and basketball, you're a basketball counter.
As I said if the rules were still the same. Do you know when they changed that or if that is just a DI rule?

Academics could be an issue
By Scott Wolf, Staff Writer
Although it's considered the No. 1 class, there is an asterisk. Hazelton, cornerback Shareece Wright and linebacker Allen Bradford of Colton along with wide receiver Jamere Holland of Taft High in Woodland Hills are among a group that could experience difficulty meeting NCAA entrance requirements.
Overall, this class is not as strong academically as last year's recruiting class, although it is as strong athletically. The striking aspect is the number of safeties USC recruited.
Looks like Green could help the GPA...maybe these geniuses could actually figure out that there's this stuff called school, class, academics, etc.....Oh wait...it's $C. They'll get in. Maybe they could hang out with Chauncey Washington and Whitney Lewis. Idiots.

Nice try but Texas got the top two linebackers in the state, he wasn't even offered. I have no problem with him going out of state, other than Texas the only other instate school worth a damn is TCU. I can't fault him for not wanting to play in that conference. Next time save that line for a guy Texas actually wanted.

Out of the top 20 players in Texas according to LSR top 100 Texas never offered Morgan, Perrish Cox, Adron Tennell, Anthony Lewis, or Leonard Hewitt.

There were a load of lower ranked guys they did offer.

Goodson is a tweener and they don't usually do very well in the Texas system.

Easily the top two backers in Texas were Sergio Kindle and Jerrod Norton. Norton had a monster year, His final tally - 195 tackles, 13 sacks, 42 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles and 1 interception. Once Texas got those two they basically closed shop on the linebacker position.

Lets just sum this board up. Vito and Texass are deity like, are infallible, never lose a recruiting battle, and everyone else only receives their left overs because they are texass. :meds:

that explains their QB situation. they didn't want Bomar or Perriloux anyway.

what i meant to say, was that OU and LSU cheated to get those commits AND texas didn't want them. and somehow Barry Switzer was involved....along side the cheating of Bud Wilkinson (who never won a football game without cheating).

No, losing Bomar and Perriloser was God proving he is a Longhorn fan. Now we don't have to deal with Bomar's dad or Perriloser's attitude.

Hell we don't even have to deal with Bomar's attitude.

I'm a true believer that things happen for a reason and they were two of them.

BTW How does Peterson feel now? He is the one who said he was going to blOwU to win championships. Too bad for him, if he followed his heart he might have gotten one. No matter, he will be a sooner for one more year and then its off to the NFL.
