Gambling should be legal. Online poker? Seems to me there’s a huge opportunity for cheating there. Even if it were legal, I can’t imagine ever spending any money there.

Gambling IS legal in just about every state. It's called the lottery. Problem is, most state gubmints don't like the competition so they keep other forms of gambling illegal.

Yes there is, but, other than nevada and NJ, most of these were on injun reservations where they could tell state gubmints to jam it up their arses sideways. other states have caved simply to try and draw away away some of the injun bidness.

Funny thing, all gambling was illegal in Wisconsin until 1987. Then the state decided to have a lottery. That’s what opened the door for the Indian casinos here. I believe that the Indians in each state still have to negotiate with the state government in order to build casinos. Most of the Indian casinos that I’m aware of make some kind of cash “donation” to the government in lieu of taxes.

I'm fairly certain the injuns, being soverign (sp) can tell the states to go fukk themselves, but, they realize the states can make things difficult or just open another casino down the street, so the injuns pay off the palefaces to keep things peaceful. In Ct, they have a deal to pay the state a piece of the slot action, which comes out to a nice chunk of change.

I'm fairly certain that you're a fucking idiot. They can run all of the bingo games they want, just like your local Catholic church does. But class III gaming (slot machines, blackjack, craps, etc) is limited to the forms of class III gaming permitted in the state in which the tribe is located.
