Se'von Pittman was an OSU lean before he ever committed to MSU. The kid grew up an OSU fan. Most kids do if they grow up in Ohio. I don't see a problem with it. Sour grapes my friend.

I never heard you bitch about it when Michigan let Dickrod do the same thing when he was hired.

it's only frowned upon by coaches when one of their players has been poached. seem to remember one of the purdue coaches (the guy with walrustache...they're all the same) complaining when dickrod wooed roy roundtree even though he was busy at the same time flipping an illinois recruit to purdue. the guys meyer's gone after would have been osu commits a long time ago had the tressel thing not gone down, which was an era long ago when you figured schools were given actual sanctions for breaking rules.
the two-staffs thing is odd, though guess i can't say much considering the toolio troll pointed out michigan doing the same thing with dickrod. wonder how often and under what circumstances that waiver's ever been denied.

I don't care if a school gets a waiver for two staffs, I care if a school gets a waiver for two staffs while under NCAA investigation. The whole reason they needed this waiver in the first place is because they were busted cheating...remember?

ah, true dat. also heard meyer's keeping fickell on as dc? that seems to complicate things since we're technically talking about one staff here, not two.

Not sure the argument is valid about two staffs...OSU has exactly 2 or 3 guys out recruiting...
Meyer, Drayton, and Fickell I believe...while other schools have their alloted number out recruiting...actually it is a common practice for the NCAA...the investigations are done...and OSU is awaiting word from the COI on the punishments...not sure where you were going with that...
This is a COMMON practice to get waivers as was pointed out about Rich Rod...so again just my opinion...and I believe ILL will get that same waiver now that Beckman is on board...I could be wrong and if I am I will stand corrected.
Schools go after kids MGO...Michigan went after Kalis after he was verbaled to OSU...Jabba the Hoke had no problem...and yes it was Danny Hope who called RR a snake oil salesman...and maybe I am old school and my word is my word...but if you think kids today will stand by their word 100% of the time...well I have news for you
Don't fret MGO...you still got Worthy and Gholston around for a couple of years...so Se'Von flipped to OSU...actually his GF is playing basketball at OSU I believe...
again don't flame me...just my $.02

bit one-sided to lay this at the feet of kids who are no shittier than the kids from 30 years ago. the ncaa could easily institute an early-signing period if they wanted to. that and coaches could stop harassing kids who publicly committed to another school. or you could just establish standards: hoke withdrawals scholarship offers from verbal commits who take officials elsewhere. not saying he's a saint because who knows what goes on behind closed doors (probably just a buffet, honestly), but if no one's going to tell recruits no then what do you expect them to do? live by a code you do only because who've never had a chance to break it?

A team that should be under sanctions should not be granted such a waiver. That's where I was going with that. The whole "
they got one, so we should get one too!" should not hold up in this case.

It's not a huge deal, but I guess a big enough deal to post on this board while waiting for my dinner to cook. And though there are always exceptions, this is NOT a practice that has been rampant amongst Big Ten coaches.

Pretty sure Worthy will go pro, but the D returns everyone else sans Trenton Robinson and Kevin Pickleman. Pretty excited about that.
