The contact between the MSU guy and the Wiscy's blocker was meager, not enough to call that the guy was driven into the punter. If the call was roughing the kicker and that 15yd personal foul got the first-down I would agree with complaints, but the 5yd running-into penalty was a good call. Going for the block is a risk, it paid-off in the first game, it didn't in this one.

I've watched it about fifty times. I agree that the MSU player took an unreasonably dangerous risk in attempting to block the kick and is as at least as much to blame for the flag as the official who threw it. The punter should get an Oscar. He wasn't displaced from his kicking or holding position. He took minor contact and made it appear as if he had been surprised in the shower by Jerry Sandusky. I think if no flag is thrown, no one says anything and the game continues.
No one says anything?!? Seriously? I guarantee you Bielema would have been on the field, and rightfully so.

It was the correct call but it just came at an inopportune time for MSU. If it had happened earlier in the game, we wouldn't be discussing it.

Plenty of people would say that the official decided the game with his no call on an obvious running into penalty. A no call in this case would be 100 times worse because the official would be deciding himself to ignore an obvious foul.

Exactly! The good thing about football officials is that we call the game the same way in the first as we do the fourth. If you wouldn't call it early in the game, you can't call the same foul late in a game. Same if you would call it early then you call the same thing late. Basketball, hockey and baseball see plenty of varying calls within games which is horrible.
