after reading this, i think i'm gonna have to check out our almost NHL franchise. when i lived in nashville, i used to go to nashville knights games. it was a good time. so what if it is slow motion NHL, it was still fun to watch. minor league baseball is cool as well. i think the talent difference is less than with hockey.

I would say that the talent difference is pretty much zero. The NHL Second Star of the week spent the first twenty games of the year in the A. Called up, steps in and wins two games.

As far as golf, Monarch Dunes is a great course but didn't fit my 'one word' line so I picked Blacklake and Lompoc is not really the CC so I left LaP off the list but it is a NICE course.

PS- 88 will not be living in CA because he would have to pass the toughest Bar Exam in the country to practice here.

I'm as big a honk as there is for minor league sports and for Rochester in general as there is. But even I am not going to say that the AHL is equal in talent to the NHL. The only position where there is something even remotely resembling parity might be at goal just because teams keep so few goalies relative to other positions. To say that the skaters are even close to equal across the board is insane.

As far as the talent difference quote you guys are reacting too, it was in reference to BSmacks take on minor league baseball being closer to MLB than minor league hockey is to the NHL.

Remember, a few posts earlier I clearly stated the A was the second best league behind the NHL.

Clearly there is a talent gap between the A and the NHL. But there is a ton of talent in the A and some 35% of it will skate in the NHL this season.
