This sweet Dalmation needs your thoughts, prayers, karma, mojo or whatever you got.
She is in surgery now and we don't know if they will be able to remove the mass on the outside of her stomach or not until they are in and see it first hand. 50/50 is what the Doc said.
Her name is Molly and the Boxer is Madeline if anyone cares.

Molly is still among the living tonight. Thanks for whatever yall offered up or didn't. She has a long ways to go, but the outlook is better now than this afternoon.

War Wagon wrote:Tyson, my Toy Fox Terrier. Absolutely the sweetest, smartest dog I've ever had the pleasure and responsibilty of looking after. Adopted him from a no kill shelter last year, just spent $200 at the vet getting his yearly what such taken care of. I wouldn't spend $200 on my wife for her birthday, which is July 4th.

It was obvious Ty wasn't feeling well lately, not his normal self the past few days. I had no idea why or what to do about it other than hope he'd get over it.
Today being the wifes B-day, I took her out for a nice dinner. When we got home a few hours later, Tyson was laying on the couch, on his favorite blanket... quite dead, though his body was still warm.
So I wrapped him up in his blanket, took him out back to his favorite corner of the yard where he used to chase squirrels up trees, dug a hole and buried him.
Talk about a ruining a perfectly good day. So much for fireworks and celebrations.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried like a baby. I'll miss that dog like no other.

Dang Wags, that's awful. How old was he?

My sympathy Wags...
I know the feeling all to well.
Haven't been able to bring myself to replace my 3 dogs, the last one passing April of 2012.
Too painful.

You buried the dog?
What a waste of perfectly good food.

Not sure, the shelter said he was 2 when we adopted him on April 6th, 2013 but the vet we first took him to said he was closer to 4.
Not that it matters, he died way too young, from what I have no idea. But he gave us much joy in the 2+ years we had him and I believe he was very happy in his circumstance. He was a real mommas boy but now the house seems empty.
We're going to visit some shelters today and hope we get lucky. Mom is distraught yet again (as am I) but like I've noted before - the best way to get over losing a beloved dog is to get a new one ASAP. I'd love to find another toy fox terrier. Looking online at breeders websites, they go for $800 or so, more than we can afford right now.
We'll never forget Tyson.

Went to the main KC shelter and spotted an adorable Min Pin that had just been picked up as a stray yesterday. They put a 5 day hold on new arrivals in case the owner shows up and claims him, which I doubt will happen as he hadn't even been neutered nor did he have tags. They say he's about 3 years old.
We had to put a $50 non-refundable deposit down, if nobody claims him he's ours on July 9th. Well, after paying another $125 to get neutered, all his shots and a micro chip implanted.
crosses fingers... we won't be quite so lonesome much longer. A home without a lovable dog is just a house.

Wags thats a pretty fucking horrible story about the 4th and your dog. Hope the other one works out for you. My son just adopted a min pin from KC pet project about a month ago.
Great dog, wish he was mine, but we have two dogs already. Post a pic when you get him.

Wags,
That is my favorite breed of dog, ever. When my beagle mix Trixie died 4 years ago, I cried like a a man does after losing a loved one. You get a new dog, but never can replace one.
So sorry man. George Carlin once said "When you get a pet, you are getting a small tragedy, eventually". But having them is worth the pain, especially rescued dogs like mine and yours were. They just give.

Ways, so sorry to hear that. It sucks and you can never replace a dog, but you can build a new and different and great relationship with a new dog.
Props to you and others here for taking rescue dogs. Our rescue boxer has had two battles with cancer and two rounds of radiation treatments but is still running 3 miles 4 times a week at 13. Our rescue Dalmatian is much slower and moves from room to room and also outside to the sun a few times a day. At 16 we are just glad she is with us each day.

Rack, the second hand smoke line.
Unrack you for lying through your teeth about being sorry.
