CNN bluntly pressed Kamala Harris’ spokesman Michael Tyler on why the Democratic nominee for president hasn’t held a press conference since President Joe Biden announced last month he wouldn’t seek reelection and endorsed his vice president instead.

“Would it kill you guys to have a press conference?” host Jim Acosta asked Tyler on Wednesday. “Why hasn’t she had a press conference?”

Harris is expected to formally accept the Democratic Party’s nomination at next week’s convention in Chicago. She and her pick for vice president, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have hosted numerous packed rallies since announcing they’d run together on Aug. 6.

With the election taking place in 82 days, there’s been a growing call for the pair to face questions.

Looks like the taste of her ass is starting to sour on her media machine.

When we went to school, there was much more public funding of higher education. Today, many kids graduate with huge student debt. Just one example of how things have changed.

When you went to school, a much smaller percentage of people went to college. Today, it's college for everyone!!!! And as always, economics still apply. The quality of the education has gone to shit, the price has gone up and many degrees are worthless

Of course nothing is free. But we make public priorities thru the budget. I truly do not mind at all having public funding for school lunches, even for those children whose families can afford it. Would much rather pay for school lunches instead of tax breaks for billionaires and huge corporations. And many other things.

Glad we can have this talk on public policy. Republicans can argue for forcing rape victims to give birth, forcing women to stay in abusive relationship by ending no fault divorces, and restricting rights from women who don't have children. Democrats will argue for feeding hungry children and equal rights. Let's find out which policies are more popular.

Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with sex offenses and homicide convictions are loose on the streets, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data provided to lawmakers this week.

The agency provided data to Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, about national data for illegal immigrants with criminal charges or convictions. The data, as of July 2024, is broken down by those in detention, and those who are not in detention -- known as the non-detained docket. The non-detained docket includes illegal immigrants who have final orders of removal or are going through removal proceedings but are not detained in ICE custody. There are currently more than 7 million people on that docket.

The data says that, among those not in detention, there are 425,431 convicted criminals and 222,141 with pending criminal charges.

Those include 62,231 convicted of assault, 14,301 convicted of burglary, 56,533 with drug convictions and 13,099 convicted of homicide. An additional 2,521 have kidnapping convictions and 15,811 have sexual assault convictions.

There are an additional 1,845 with pending homicide charges, 42,915 with assault charges, 3,266 with burglary charges and 4,250 with assault charges.
