But you're cool with a 10 year old with a firearm... unreal.
Because I was hunting at that age. And before I ever touched a gun, hunting safely was drilled into me over and over again.
I grew up knowing first hand what a bullet does. Unlike in video games, the squirrel or deer does not come back to life.
Pretty sure those hunting safely lessons are not as common these days.

The harder question is whether an individual citizen has a right to possess a firearm to protect themself and their loved ones from criminals.
Actually, that is the easiest question. If you don't have the right to defend yourself, you have no rights at all. There is no more fundamental natural right than self-defense.
I do not believe the Framers envisioned the Second Amendment as protecting the right of the People to attach high capacity magazines to semi-automatic weapons (neither of which existed at the time).
What the fuck are you babbling about? They clearly envisioned and provided for privately owned warships. They wouldn't bat an eye at any commonly used small arm.

The issue isn't 10 year olds having guns.
It's the fucked up culture we have now, with social media and the addiction to phones being the root causes.
Kids don't interact anymore, nor do a lot of adults. They're slaves to their Instagram and Tik Tok, and are completely obsessed with self-image.
If the culture keeps devolving, we'll keep seeing school shootings.
It's as simple as that.
