The Black Hawks were there again today. I'm clueless about their actual capacities, but they seem amazing. When they are on the ground with their engines on, you don't just hear them, you feel it. They aren't gunships. They're transports, search & rescue, medevac etc. Special ops might have a few specialized gunship variants. These things aren't exactly new. They've been around for about 40 years.

HUGE props to the first responders, storm hitting at night like that and with so many people who could not or would not evacuate, they did an incredible job of rescuing folks under really bad conditions. And that is going to continue for the next couple of days.

Friend’s place near Steinhatchee took nearly a direct hit. Not sure if home survived this one because everyone had evacuated.

Shitloads of flooding all over from south of Clearwater to the panhandle. This one was a mofo.
