Cutting off their oil gave them no options but to retreat or attack.
Their oil?!? Nice of you to admit that they were given an option.
Attack or be assasinated.
Good choices there.
Stiffing their ambassador the week before PH was unessecary, except as a snub and provocation.
Of course, the Pearl Harbor strike force was already underway at that point in time and we knew
something was up. By all means make your case for kow towing to the Japs.
So FDR wasn't caught completly unawares?
And where did I suggest we should have kow towed to the Nips?
And any Japanese politician suspected of embracing pacifism in the thirties/fourties ended up dead.
Link?
Maybe later.
And besides,Germany (his real target) was no imminent threat.
Tell that to our merchant marine.
Who were violating the neutrality act in another FDR attempt to instigate war.
And Japan no long term threat at all, manpower or material wise, and was badly overextended.
What alternate reality are you from?
You disagree?
Got something to back it up with?

Other than the fact that you are a total fucking idiot?
Ever hear of China or the Philippines? Guess what, dumbshit? We had vital interests there which were threatened by Japanese aggression. To say nothing of the fact that our allies were also threatened by the Japs.
Face it. You're nothing but a fucking dickheaded cunt who can't see past your blinked hatred of FDR's domestic policy.
Want to try proving that Japan wasn't outmanned, outgunned and overextended?
And I'm sorry if you think the New Deal was so nifty, but unlike you, I CAN seperate the two issues.
Ignortant twat.

Try to follow, genius.
They had no interest in attacking America until FDR goaded them into it.
They didn't have the industrial capacity or manpower to fight us, especialy as they were streatched out across the entire Pacific.
They were no threat to us, as the left now claims is the criteria for waging war.
Allies and regional stability don't count.
