A few days ago my oxygen was at 93, it is now back up to 96 and I'm grateful for that. Also this thing messed with my head which was really weird, a brain fog, glad that's not happening now as well. My voice is gone and it makes me sound worse than I actually am. If this is vax-protected omicron covid, I damn sure wouldn't want to be unvaxxed or have the stronger versions of this virus.

Good to hear you are getting through it. The vax probably helped, if we can believe any of the BS public health feeds us today. Ya know what else might have helped?

Sufficient level's of vitamin D and zinc. Do you take them? If you've relied on the CDC to guide you through this mess, you don't have enough this time of year. Also, having access to other treatments which actually have been shown to be helpful in parts of the world that can't afford the vax.

We'd have much better info on just how good these things are, had doctors been free to use them. Unfortunately you have to have deep pockets or know someone to get them.

Coworker brought a pie to the office today and yeah it was impressive. Definitely worth making this. She gave me the recipe:

Do not use store bought crust!


My crust is 1 1/3 c flour, 1/3 cup oil, 3 T of cold milk and pinch of salt. Mix and place between two pieces of wax paper and roll flat with rolling pin. Peel one side of paper off and gently place in pie pan.


Ingredients

1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell *
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup (6 ounces) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
Sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)


Step 1

Preheat oven to 325° F.


Step 2

Beat eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy. Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat in butter. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spoon into pie shell.


Step 3

Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.

When I had covid, I listened to my physician and took zinc and something else, I can't remember the name of it now. He also said rest but don't stay in bed all the time, and get lots of fluids, did that too. My daughter (who is getting her pharmacy white coat later this month) told me to also take a multivitamin and OTC flu meds, took those as well.

So yes, I did get vitamin D from the multivitamin and I also went outside and sat on our sunny porch, presumably picked up some more vitamin D doing that.

At about 6'2" and 250, I am obese. And yes, I have multiple other health issues. You are correct in that if I was in better shape then I would have fared better with covid.

As for the pie, of course I don't eat that every day, but sure when a coworker brings it to the office then yeah I'm having some. No exaggeration, that pie was outstanding, and the next time I need to make a dessert, I'm going to make it. If you make it, you will understand why I got the recipe from her and shared it with y'all.

As Kierland pointed out, my weight, even if I was 450 pounds, doesn't harm you or your family. But if I had visited your home when I had covid, there's a good chance y'all also would have gotten sick. Or worse, if you haven't been vaccinated.

So, your logic of “it doesn’t harm you” applies to people doing stupid shit which increases the odds of them getting and spreading the rona, but when someone passes on the jab, you shame them for being irresponsible.

I’m not demanding you take vitamin D or stop eating garbage. I actually believe in letting people put whatever they want in their bodies. It is you vax notzees that are playing that game.

So listen to your own advice when you go to the “it isn’t affecting you” card.

As for getting enough vitamin D in that multi, I’d look into it further. You may need to take individual vitamins to get the proper level.

I'm not the one shaming people for doing/not doing things in the name of "public health".

What you (and I actually) do, not eating as we should, contributes to the terrible problem we have as a society which is we are spending bazillions in medical treatment.

Once your claim that the jab would stop the spread in any appreciable manner was proven utterly inaccurate, you switched to the jab lessens symptoms and lowers the caseload for overburdened hospitals.

So does not being a fat fukk. So get your own house in order before taking part in a campaign to force others to do things for the public health good.

How would you like it if your employer said Chip, you fat fukk, you must get to a BMI of X. You must do it by date Y. If you don't you are fired.

But, you support such treatment of those who refuse to take your precious vaccine, even if they are among those who statistically face no danger.

At least a requirement for you to get more fit is indisputably a good thing for you and everyone around you, whereas forcing someone to take a still unproven vaccine MAY cause them harm and provides no obvious benefit.

In the big picture, I think a better case could be made to force you and I away from the feedbag, than to force someone else to take a vaccine.

But, unlike you, I am not a hypocrite about it. I am for maximum liberty of people to take/not take a jab, eat/not eat apple pie or do pretty much anything else. Hell, I'm even for the right of a woman to kill her baby, early in the pregnancy. And I know you hold that alleged right over pretty much everything.
