Obligatory, albeit pointless, CU/UT thread...

If you guys expect me to start talking mad shit and asking for sig bets, you're going to be very disappointed. I saw how well that worked out for OSU fan & OU fan, so I think I'll pass. All I hope for from this game is a respectable performance.
I'm pretty happy with how the season is shaping up so far for CU. We beat our second-most-hated rival in the opener, the D has already pitched 2 shutouts, and the 41-20 win over aTm wasn't even as close as the score indicated. Unfortunately, in their first big road test against a top 10 team, CU pretty much pissed down their collective leg. I think CU is arguably the 2nd best team in the Big XII and a Jan 1st bowl game is a distinct possibity. But I'm a realist - I just don't see us beating Texas.
I mean, I guess it's within the realm of possibility. VY could blow out his knee on the first series. Texas could still have a hangover from the RRS and come out cold. Crazier things have happened, to be sure. But that's pretty much grasping at straws. If we can at least show up and make a game of it, I'll be happy. Just stay within a couple TDs and preserve our pride. I'll hope for the upset, but I'm not going to predict it.
Impossible dream pick
CU 31
UT 28
Cold, hard reality pick
UT 35
CU 10

What if they pretend UT is Knebraska?
Nevermind. Texas AIN'T the Corn & probably never will be in our minds. The Corn has an insurmountable lead over UT and practically everybody else in the world except for OU & OBL in ROTTEN MOTHER FUCKING SHIT-DICK SNORTING-PIG ASS-BITE.

1. I don't really hate OU. I don't particularly like them either, but I don't hate them on a Nebraska-type level. Put it this way - In any given season, all other things being equal, I'd take a win over an 0-10 UNL team over a win over an undefeated OU team.
2. Who is OBL? Osama Bin Laden? If it came down to a win over an 0-10 UNL team or seeing the Buffs fly to Afghansitan on a rogue mission, capturing and beheading Osama Bin Laden, and becoming national heroes, hmmmm..... You're gonna have to let me think that one over for a bit.

That's what I just said, isn't it?

Didn't mean to imply that. Just that OU & OBL are the only ones close to N-is-for-Knowledge in hatability. Corn's insurmountable lead over them is kind of like KCPaul 3.0's insurmountable lead over the other board bitch contenders, although on a slightly smaller scale

CU's game against Miami may give them some preperation for UT's speed and strength. but, while Miami had a rook QB, UT has a guy who is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. and the Horns are sort of like Tarkanian's UNLV teams or Billy Tubbs' OU teams.....they can score in bunches.
they can turn a close game into a blowout in a few minutes....they did it against Missouri and Oklahoma.
Klatt throws a nice deep ball (though i don't think he's ever been the same since the shoulder injury), and Hugh Charles is a nice back. CU's D has been tough. i just don't see it happening in Austin.
though, the OU-UT hangover is real....in the past for both teams to come out flat the week after. especially the winner.
never know.

Mack will blow one this (every) year.
CU seems just as good as any.

Wow you know if you keep saying that long enough you just might be right one week and then you can come in here and scream scoreboard.
Texas 41
CU 17.
CU might be the 2nd best but right now I think Taco Tech has you beat.

Just genius. I'll have to add that one to the KYOA book of '05.
Other greats include;
Mack can't win the big game.
Prior to Rose Bowl win.
Mack will choke at the Horseshoe. He can't win the big game.
Mack will find a way to lose to OU and he'll be outcoached by Stoops. He can't win the big game.
Can't wait to start on chapter 2.

Just a thought here, but UT couldn't be happy facing CU in the Title game for a second time if it plays out.
That pimpin' Barnett could cause some major problems with a second crack at a team he's already played.

1 big difference between this Texas team and the 2001 team. We do not have Chris Simms to choke the game away.
CU is playing good ball right now. Good D and a strong o-line. I think that they keep it close in the first half but wear down in the second half.
Texas 44
CU 10

I was just making my Pick 'Em picks and I picked Colorado +19.5, which conflicts with my earlier predicton. Therefore, I'm gonna have to go out on a limb and say that the Buffs stay within three scores.
Cold, hard reality pick v. 2.0
UT 31
CU 14
Here we go Buffs! Let not get embarassed! :?

Neb moved the ball all over Taco and whenever we weren't turning the ball over we were scoring(we punted once the whole game). Our O has improved but not that much, that and the fact that Tech let KU's sorry O move the ball and score in Lubbock makes me think they have the same mediocre D they've always had. I'd take CU over Tech right now, they are more balanced.

I think it's going to be closer than most of the predictions. Jamal Charles is doubtful so that means Selvin Young to be the starter at RB. If he doesn't get velcro gloves before kickoff the the Buffs may get an early score off a turnover and gain some momentum. Texas has a very respectable track record at home under Mack Brown, but if anyone has tried to believe in the Horns for very long, most realized there will be a letdown somewhere along the way. Hard tio fathom Texas going undefeated, but this years defense looks to be the best in years. Really hard to predict this one but I gotta say...
Colorado 24
Texas 22

I think I realized this year that I don't hate Texas as much as I thought. I hate CU more. Actually, I hate every prick coach they hire more, but that's my problem. I don't hate mdub though...
Tex 31
CU 21

So far it's the Vince Young show again. Luckily for Colorado Selvin Young runs about as well as he handles ball security.

Yikes, so much for my CU is better than Tech comment, I guess that is why I don't bet. Tech got out the whoopass can today. But Texas will beat Tech as well. They will be too physical for the Tech defense, pounding the ball and keeping Tech's O off the field.

I would like to extend my deepest apologies to Texas and their fans for ever thinking that CU could stay within 17 points of Texas. At this point, I'm just hoping they stay within 50.

With the way this game is going Texas will call off the dogs after their first score of the 2nd half. Which will likely be the first drive of the 2nd half. ;)

Man, this looks like a fucking video game. It'll be a moral victory for CU if Texas punts in this game.

Go to the ND/USC game its alot better
I'm switching between that and FL?LSU hoping the gators pull it out so it will help FSU strength of schedule when we beat them. :P

UT could have named the score in this one.
still 35-10, but this was monumental ass-kicking in the first half.

After seeing parts of both games I think Texas would dry fuck SC.
