Raiders vs. Chargers

Chargers on a short week will be out of gas and ripe for an assbeating. Raiders are rested and now clicking fairly well.
The offense finds its stride facing the shit DB's that the Chargettes try to pass off as real players.....

The Bolt's have lost 3 games by a total of 9 points against stiff competition. They came out of the war with the Stillers in good shape physically. They put points on the board against everyone, and you don't run on them.
The Raiduhs, they pretty much suck on defense and are inconsistent on offense. Their strength would be the long ball, something the Chargers have no clue how to stop. They couldn't hold the Sisters of Mercy under 200 yards through the air. If the Bolt's don't blitz on virtually every play, Collins will eat them alive with Moss, Porter, Gabriel, and Anderson.
After blowing all 3 games in the last 2 minutes, the Bolt's better find a way to stop somebody in the 4th quarter, or they will soon find themselves out of it.

Pivotal game for Oakland.
Lose and they are not only 1-4, but they are 0-3 v. the AFC, and 0-2 within the division, with both losses coming at home. *ouch*.
Win and they get out of last place at 2-3 with another home game v. so-so Buffalo the next week.
My head says SD wins a VERY close game on Sunday, but my large Silver and Black heart won't allow me to call that.
Instead I call a close Raiduh win.
Reasons...?
1. The obvious. Oakland is totally rested and prepared, coming off the bye week. SD is the opposite, playing on a short week and having to then travel.
2. Oakland's passing game should hit a few biggies v. the Blots suspect secondary.
3. Oakland has stopped the run quite well so far this year. They have not faced a running attack like LT and the Blots, however. BIG test.
Oakland loses this game if their penalties are not kept well in check.
DISCIPLINE......an absolute must.
Raiders - 20
Bolts - 19

If discipline decides the game for the Raiders, you might as well go Michael Hutchence right now and get it over with.

Keeping the penalty yard total under.....oh, say 80, might make me smile.
Baby steps.

LT goes nuts, 180+ and 2 TDs. Moss goes equally nuts, 150+ and 2 TDs. Brees to Gates is the difference...

The Oakland Raiders, The Team of the Decades, face the San Diego Chargers, fellow member of the American Football Conference Western Division, this Sunday at McAfee Coliseum. This Sunday's game marks the 91st league meeting between the Raiders and Chargers. The Raiders hold a 54-34-2 advantage in regular season contests over San Diego since 1960 when the teams began pro football competition as original members of the American Football League

This is a joke...right?
No,the joke is what you're packin in your pants.
Raider Charger games in Oakland are always close and tough. These 2 teams cannot afford another loss and I expect both teams to step it up defensively.

The Oakland Raiders, The Team of the Decades
What decades might that be? Do they still drag out that bs "best record since 1963 crap?"

Oakland is allowing just 3.4 yds per carry, 2nd in the AFC.
They've given up 99 yds a game on the ground.
Pretty good numbers.
They have shown that they can be hit through the air, however.
Trouble is, SD's offense is primarily a running threat, with Brees throwing for just 200 yds a game.
Numbers don't at all suggest that SD will light up the scoreboard on Sunday.

It's a division game
Division games are important
That can only mean that Schottenheimer will find a way to lose and lose decisively. He can't help himself.

The Chargers are a hard team to peg right now. They play their best on the road as under dogs. I've said it many times before, signing your own players and maintaining the status quo is really falling behind in the NFL. This team could use a serious talent boost, and having Rivers the Chargers #1 pick two years ago riding the pine is the reason they don't.
Robert Gallery, Larry Fitzgerald, Sean Taylor....anyone of those guys would be a huge upgrade for San Diego. Not to mention Eli or big Ben, both of whom I suspect will be better than Rivers.
Enough of the rant. With the Bolts defense, getting a 3 and out about being as likely as winning the lotto, the Chargers need to have possession of the ball at the end of the game to win. Of course the same can be said of the primer & soot.
The Bolts have better leadership on the field & on the sidelines. The Chargers also usually play better in Oakland than they do in San Diego. Hell what does it matter? I’ll never pick the primer & soot over the Bolts anyway.

Primer & soot - 30

I'll give you play by play here..
Chargers have the ball...handoff Tolinson-TD
Raiders have the ball..1 yard gain by Jordon, then Collins chucks it up to Moss in double coverage..
times this by 20 and that's your game
