Is there a bigger group of worthless human beings, and wasted talent than the 95 Nebraska team? You'd have to dig deep to find out, but I doubt it. We have to start with Lawrence Phillips...his resume is more accomplished than a decade's worth of scandals and arrests for most teams. In fact we could probably stop here and have this debate wrapped up, but that would be disrespectul to the COLD HARD FACTS:

Lawrence Phillips - Busted up his girlfriend better than he did any defense in the NFL, or CFL for that matter. We're talking felony assault charges, carrying loaded weapons in his vehicle, making terrorist threats, punching women in the face at nightclubs because they refused to dance with him, multiple visits to jail, drunk driving arrests, assaulting NU women's basketball players, attacking cops at NU parties, sexually assaulting women at hotel parties, accepting gifts from agents...jesus, living that fucked up of a life takes finesse.

Richard Washington - Attempted Second Degree Murder

Tyrone Williams - Carrying weapons and firing guns at moving vehicles

Damon Benning - Arrested over dispute with g/f, same thing with James Sims

Christian Peter - Sexually assaulting women in bars

Feel free to add more, as I'm sure there are more.

No doubt he turned out to be an all time loser, however, as bad as he was, only the girlfriend down the stairs took place at NU and he was suspended for the 8 final regular season games and played less than a half in the NC game. He took his act to various professional cities and raised hell... I guess NU was supposed to babysit him after he was gone.

Plural? Yes he did it once and was screwing around with people he knew. The LPD filed the arrest, but the passenger's didn't file charges.

Damon Bennig was a victim of Fatal Attraction. This was proven a false accusation by a psyco bitch. I personnally know Damon, he is a very intellegent, kind, caring individual that I would trust with anything and anyone I care about.
Sims was also falsely accused and no charges we filed. This was a copycat from yet another co-ed looking for attention.

Name calling and gropping, stupid adolescent behavior.

Make no mistake, I'm not trying to excuse the shit some players pulled.
It stupid and they should be reprimanded according to the law. Yet none of these guys saw jail time, and the Lincoln Police is definitley not a good ol' boy group. The funny thing is, if you win a NC you're fish bowl material. This crap happens more than we will ever know on all campus'.

Still the national media was trying to pile on NU in most part due to their success. Many things embelished. I remember hearing Rome talk about the incidents and I knew good and well he was glossing for his fucking program. The national perspective was not the local takes in many instances. And once the truth came out about Benning and Sims, assholes like Rome didn't see fit to mention it. Wonder why? Not good ratings me thinks.

Anyway, I know you're baiting for bradhusker (the sequel), good luck with that.

Forrest Gump won in 94. As good a movie as it was, Shawshank should have won the Oscar and Robbins/Freeman were reallt robbed.

I looked at the 95 roster and the name I was going for was Riley Washington.
