OU rumors floating

The following rumor came from a hornfan who claims to have a "well placed" contact within the Sooner program. Keep in mind it is coming from a Longhorn fan to other Longhorn fans. But I'm sure Sooner fan will be here to fix the errors.
I have received more confirmation today that my source was RIGHT ON THE MONEY when he told me a month ago that the majority of the sooner football team doesn't care for Bomar...in fact today Jim Traber said that he in fact spoke with his source (which is on staff with ou) and that the players do not appreciate Bomars arrogance...he said that they feel like...he has done NOTHING to warrant him being so cocky and saying the stuff he says..he also reaffirmed that most of the team wanted Paul Thompson to be the starter all along. There are also rumors floating around about in fighting between Kevin Wilson and Chuck Long...my guy called it differences in PHILOSOPHY...he said in short...Long doesn't want his QB running with the football and he hates the offense they are running with Bomar...Wilson on the other hand ran and some in the sooner program claim he "INVENTED" the zone read offense while at Northwestern..it seems like Stoops sided with Wilson after the TCU, TULSA, and UCLA fiasco's and basically told Long to change the offense..there has been an ENORMOUS amount of heat and blame being heaped upon Stoops, Long, Venables, Wilson, and the rest of the staff...but the best part is that fans have been calling in at an alarming rate wanting Bomar replaced...and also saying that ou must go out and sign a juco QB to come in and be ready to go next year...also the fans, and ESPECIALLY the coaches are FURIOUS about Jerry Bomar running his mouth to the media...I think ou will find a way to beat Kansas this weekend...BUT, if they should lose...their program will be dangerously close to full meltdown...Stoops even went so far as to take several shots at Bomar in an interview and press conference on Tuesday...If Kansas wins this weekend lookout below...Hook'em

You guys spend so much time fucking making shit up about OU it's amazing. I know it's hard to break habits, but you won this year.
You know as well as I do its a genetic defect in Texans to make things bigger than they are. :D
Especially when it deals with Hoggie and Spooners.
With that said, Phil Simms (and Chris for that matter) have nothing on Jerry and Jerry's kid. I was pissed when he chose to be a Spooner, now I'm glad you got him.

I know for a fact that, after Thompson was named the starter, Bomar raised a bunch of Hell about it and basically threw a tantrum (screaming, throwing shit, etc...) in the locker room. Amidst this tantrum were transfer threats. Thompson played poorly, the coaches saw an opportunity, and there you have it. Thompson won't transfer now though, 'cause, if he did, he'd never play another down... The coaches, and Bomar, waited until Thompson was "trapped," so to speak.
Anyway, this tantrum did not endear Bomar to anybody in or around the program, save the Cletus Crowd of OU fans who care more about recruiting than they do winning some times...
...and there's worse shit than that going around. Why don't you ask your "friends" about that since they're so close to the program and all?

That is what I would call a lockerroom Cancer. And then after the game His dad is ripping the Sooner coaches for his son's lack of reps in spring drills?
Translation: Bomar should have been given the job from the beginning and he would have been better prepared.
I can't imagine what would have happened if Phil Simms did this to Texas. Not that he didn't have either the opportunity or the motivation, but he did us a big service by not being a little league dad gone wild.

i'm not saying there isn't substance to much of what is said.....but Vito's source is very selective and an inflammatory piece of writing.....far more than the *actual* things said by Trabor. i head the show yesterday.
and Stoops did not "take shots" at Bomar in his press conference. the transcript is available at soonersports.com. he did say Bomar took "a step backwards" against UT--which anyone who saw the game would have to agree with. but, Stoops shouldered much of the blame himself.
i'm not saying it's all cups and cakes in the OU lockerrrom....but what happened to that AD transfer rumor of a couple weeks ago posted by our loyal reporter?
there's a lot of selective reading going on here.
But yeah, Jerry Bomar's remarks do nothing but put his son in a bad situation....the guy needs to become an adult and keep his mouth shut.
i'm not real vocal about it, but Chuck Long lost me sitting in the end zone of the 2003 Sugar Bowl when OU was jamming it down LSU's throat with Kejuan Jones running out of the straight I....and when OU has it first and 10 at LSU's 12 he calls only pass plays--in thh final minutes down 7 with the MNC on the line in a hostile environment. listening to my Dad and every other Sooner all game grousing about Chuck not running the ball out of the "gawddammmned I".
now, one of these pass plays was a great call that White over threw--the delay middle screen to Kejuan (wide open), i admit. but i will go to my grave thinking OU would have punched that one in running the ball against LSU's tiring DL. win or not? i don't know....that's the two point conversion.
you look at the success Wilson as OC had at NW with Kustok and much less talent and the offensive (pun) morass OU is in now...... what has Long done without Jason White?

If you needed any more evidence that things in Norman are shakey just look at their recruiting class of 2003. The Sooners had the #1 recruiting class in 2003, of that class only 10 of those players are still at the school and just 1 of those 10 is a starter..... and hes a kicker

I'm sure the handling of the qb-situation by the coaches has cost them some respect from the team. When you reward a spoiled brat with the starting job over the guy who earned it and it is pretty apparent you planned to do it all along but didn't want to give Thompson the opportunity to transfer it looks pretty freaking bad.
It wouldn't surprise me a bit if Stoops makes a staffing change or two after this season. OU just isn't as well coached as they were in their championship season. You can't lose three guys to head-coaching jobs without some letdown. But Bob is still Bob and OU is still OU, I'm sure he can find and attract the right coach(es) to help put OU back on top. This downturn will not last very long.

Here are the rumors as I have heard them.
Peterson busted for selling X. Stupid and that is why I never posted it.
Peterson in trouble for skipping class. Confirmed.
Team hates Bomar. Not yet confirmed but sure looks that way.
Bomar treatened to transfer if he didn't start. Skull says its true
Team wanted Thompson as starter. Semi-confirmed by OKC sports jock
Discontent among the assistant coaches. Semi-confirmed by OKC sports jock
Coaches pissed about Jerry Bomar running his mouth. I would say common sense tells us that.
Stoops takes several shots at Bomar. Overblown
Team is dangerously close to full meltdown. Not sure what would intale full meltdown, but it is unconfirmed.
These are the rumors that I have seen so far and skull I spoke with the guy that is connected to the OU program and he told me he was going to post more but Jason Shomel wouldn't allow him because of the nature of the rumor. He told me it dealt with a pretty serious legal issue. For what its worth take it with a grain of salt.

BTW here is a semi-confirmed Texas rumor that you guys might find interesting. During the 2nd quarter of the RRR. Mack Brown and Greg Davis got into a pretty heated fight on what to do. with 30 seconds left Greg wanted to take a knee and not risk another turnover. Mack wanted to go for it and play as aggressive as possible. So Mack overruled him and took over the play calling for the last few plays and Texas scores a huge TD.
