dear bss fans:

what do you think of bee hives? it's really growing on me. BSS is probably the first band that made me appreciate instrumentals (and don caballaro). feel good lost has a lot of instrumentals but i think bee hives improves on that album, even though it's b-sides and shit that didn't make other albums.

good shit. bss is tourning too. good to see lots of good live independent rock coming out of canada. this must be one hell of an era for canada: arcade fire, BSS, new pornographers. hell yes.

don caballaro
I knew Damon, Mike, and George. I went to elementary school with George. I was in a band with Mike, he had a punishing Marshall stack that rattled my parents' basement.

actually i met damon outside of kraftbrau in kzoo when they played here two years ago. the band played five songs before they quit because a dude in the audience was spitting on damon and threatening him (dude had leathers, chains, and a mohawk, i wish someone would have pounded him). we apologized for the asshole in the crowd and he said

"thanks, but we're probably not coming back here."

fuck.

Saw Broken Social Scene play last night. Very clean. Very tight. Incredible.

When I hear "Bee Hives", I think about a different band:
