Loved it - read it for the first time while I lived in NO, which was a nice touch. If you haven't read The Neon Bible, I recommend you do so promptly.

funny what you say about NO. that must have been cool. because when i read it a couple times as a wee pup i'd never been to NO and i've a few times since and most recently for the 2003 Sugar Bowl with my pops....and lot of the locales are there....the Algiers Ferry we took over to meet some local Sooners for Fullers ESB at a local pub....etc. even just the quarter or Poydras. or the way the names sound in your mouth.

i was hurting for a muffaletta about halfway through. all things considered these days, that's all diff.

i'll check that out...any kind of diversion (especially a good one) is welcome these days.
