IU will beat tO$U tomorrow

I've been posting on this board* for long enough that people should know I don't toss around crazy and bold claims very often, especially when it pertains to IU football. That said, I have a very good feeling that IU pulls off the upset tomorrow and knocks off the Buckeyes. I NEVER would have thought that when the year started, but tO$U isn't nearly the team I thought they'd be. I felt at the start of the year that IU would win a game nobody thought they would, and as the season has played out I know believe that game is here. Just sayin.
IU- 28
tO$U- 24

i know very little about IU football...'xcept they are "better" this season.
if the BUCKEYES play to IU's Level...then you might very well be correct about the outcome.
IU's defense will have to score twice to make this interesting.
i'll give them a TD and a Safety.
BUCKEYES 24
IU 16

IU could definitely win this one. They also could get bitch-slapped. That is what makes CFB fun. See you tomorrow night for post game breakdowns.
Lee Corso would pick Indiana. His career record there from 1973 to 1982 was: 41-68-2

Do we have a forum dedicated to epiphanies? You know, one where when one of us can go to read other posts for inspiration?
I respectfully request that we pop the cork on the new forum w/Qbert's post.

Will IU please take it's rightful place in the basement of the BIG 10?

No where to go, so whadaya do....
... archive someone else's posts, IN A DIFFERENT FORUM, no less. Focus, son. Focus.
... and if telling you to settle down with your newly minted mod duties at the NFL forum (to which you agreed) is getting 'run', then yeah... you're right.

Shine,
I thought that was a noble prediction, given what has happened in the Big Ten this year. If the officiating had been somewhat decent, IU may have had a shot to still be in the game by the 4th quarter.
Horrible calls on both sides. The refs blow the whistle early on two kick/punt return plays, award OSU the fumble on one, but don't give the Hoosiers the same benefit on the other. And that Ted Ginn punt return? WTF? Blocking a defenseless player? Lefty, can you add some insight to that one, had it actually happened?

I will second that motion, the Big 10 officials (after setting a nice trend last year) have been subpar this year. After last weeks thread, I watched three different Big 10 games this weekend and what I saw was sad. Numerous missed calls, numerous wrong calls and what was up with the replays? If the officials were looking at the same shots we were looking at, I don't know how they came up with their calls.
I hope this is not the beginning of a trend and likewise Lefty, what do you think? Did you get a chance to see any of these problems?

If they do, they owe us rent, because we own that place.
Sincerely,
Illinois

Respectfully disagree. Yes the officiating could have been done better by a crew of Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Hellen Keller, but it didn't affect the outcome. Simply put, the tO$U defense was AMAZING. Our offense couldn't do anything all day. IMO, after IU had the TD off the turnover and cut the lead to 17-10 was when we had our shot. What did the Buckeyes do though?? A spirit killing drive for a TD, GAME OVER.
I prolly got caught up in the Hep-mania that's sweeping Bloomington making that call, but I DID have a good feeling and wanted to post before hand so IF the upset did happen I wasn't coming in after the fact saying "I knew it". Give it a couple years, IU's recruiting is taking a MAJOR step forward so the athletic discrepency shouldn't be as wide in a couple years.

Honestly when I saw that pick, I went from feeling 70% confident about an upset to 7%.

Agreed. You can already tell the impact that Hoepnner has had there with deciding wins over Illinois & Kentucky. No sarcasm there-- I realize those teams are not very good-- but in the past, IU has been on the losing end playing other really bad teams.
